I'm not sure how to measure it, so that may be an exaggeration. But, I ran CCleaner for the first time on my laptop and it suddenly shut down and started up a lot faster, and I tend to keep my system very tidy, so I was amazed by the results. I also ran the same thing on my desktop, and it eliminated around 1000 registry issues and cleaned out five gigs of literally worthless files. Needless to say, it started working much better.

Yes, but working -directly- with the registry is quite risky for a novice.

I guarantee that it won't have any negative effects. You'll only notice improvements =)

                Re: computer help?

Yeah. Using the registry IS risky. But this is fully automated. Just double click on the registry file. I've done it on all of the computers in my house. (and they thank me for it.)

I'm a little bit of a crazy computer guy, so if I say anything you don't understand ask someone else on the forum. (Or myself) There's BOUND to be loads of us with a better understanding on the concept of "Explaining to Newbs".
