    any runners?

I run cross country and the distance events for Track and Field and I also coach a cross country team.

For those of you who dont know what cross country is it is a sport where you...run lol, the races range from 5k(3.1 miles), 8k(5 miles), and 10k (6.1 miles)

I was wondering if anyone here also runs for those sports or if im the only one?

Yeah, I've been doing track for 6 years now. It's pretty good, but I'm sso out of shape. The try-outs for XCountry were this morning and I did so bad on the 2 mile. I didn't break 16. HAHA, I hope they don't kick me out for it.
    And..wouldn't it make sense that a 10k is 6.2?
That's what I thought it was, but that's just me and my math lol.

I ran in cross country back in elementary school but I quit when I got to highschool because it happened at the same time as soccer, but I chose to play soccer instead.

Why would someone want to run?

We have FFR, DDR, and Guitar Hero. That's a lot of exercise there. No need for cross country.

          Re: any runners?

I run indoor outdoor and cross country.

I'm mainly a sprinter. I specialize in the 400 meter dash. I'm ranked statewide with a 52.1 FAT in the open 400. I also participate in 4x400 relays, I run the 200 with a PR of 23.4 FAT. I long jump 19'6'' and run a 5k in 19:32(not a distance runner, first season of cross country)

I'm going into my senior year and I'm looking to hit a 37 FAT in the 300 during indoor, and to drop my 400 to a 50.x FAT.

            Re: any runners?

yea i run distance but some sprints also, here are my times , they are...decent from where i come from, we are a D1 school and these times arent even close to warrant a state trip sadly

            Distance (decent)

            1 mile: 4:51
2 mile: havent ran it yet
            5k: 18:22
            8k: 32:19
            10k: havent run one yet

            Sprint (sucks)

            800m(half mile): 2:07
            400m: 55.19
            200m: 26.07

I'm a runner. Mostly just in school though. My best record is 2.4k in 9:34 I think. It's not that great, but hey..

I don't understand a lot of that, mostly what the hell is a FAT, but I know that those are some pretty good numbers.

I myself never ran, but played soccer. I probably could have done decent at track if I ever tried it. I'm a short distance sprinter myself. Anything under a 400 would be good for me. 400 would be pushing it for me to keep going the whole way, but I could do it, just not as well as TPS... I'd probably be the best at 200, though I prefer the 100 or whatever. No times because I never did any of it, otherwise I'd post 'em =\

Oh. BTW. I suck at sprinting. I can only jump 2' into the air above my hight onto a wall. (This tells you whether your a Long distance runner or a sprinter.)
My friend, who is both long distance AND sprinter can jump 4.5' into the air up a wall.

                      Re: any runners?

I run indoor, outdoor, and XC. I am going into my sophmore year, and I mainly run the half-mile (800m). I have run other events as well as the 800, and I have done a number of field events, all really badly.

                      Times/Heights/Distances:
                      300m: 43.x
                      800m: 2:19
                      4x400m: 62.x
                      4x800m: 2:20

                      High Jump: 4'10"
                      Triple Jump: 31'10"
                      45m Hurdles: 0:09.0
                      Note to self Finish.

you should do it next year then.

it keeps you motivated i guess, like i dont let myself use the computer unless i put in atleast 5 miles a day of decent running, like 5 miles in under 35 mins is good training for me right now.

Can you explain this a little more, I think I understand what you're trying to say, but I still am not quite sure. Because depending on how I am supposed to take this I might have a very high jump.

I run...but during the beginning of last year's season, I got real bad knee problems, so it's kinda hindering me from running very well.

                            Some of my PRs:

                            800m: 2:07 (as a sophomore)
                            1600m: 4:50 (as a sophomore)
                            3200m: Didn't run it
                            5,000m: (XC): 17:58 (as a junior)

We'll have to see how this season goes, I have barely been running this summer, and pre-season starts on monday. XD
