got my new computer!

just got my new computer the other day and let me tell you, its fricken awesome!

2.66 core 2 duo proccessor
256mb nvidia 8600 GTS DX10 enable
4g of ram (forgot the specific kind)
running windows vista for the DX10
20" ultrasharp widescreen LCD
saitek eclipse II keyboard
Logitech G5 gaming laser mouse
Creative SB X-fi sound card


umm thats all that i can think of right now



it runs so smooth, i can have WoW running, FFR running, Itunes and Windows media player running, and AIM all running at the same time with no slowdown what-so-ever, its a beast

the new games coming out support DX10 and will drastically increase the visual quality of the game that supports it, any computer gamer would get it

I'll go back to 3.1 before I "upgrade" to Vista. And DX10 has a long way to go.

no i dont listen to any propaganda, i do my own research before i state anything, yes i agree it has a long way to go but there will be driver updates anyway, so y not?

ideally you should get rid of vista and switch to XP Pro, but i guess you want to keep your DX10. frankly your mouse is trash. try out a Microsoft intellimouse 1.1. 4 gigs of ram seems like overkill. i assume you are a gamer, so an LCD is a pretty horrible choice. if you want the best gaming results you should swap the LCD for a big CRT, preferably a Samsung or Viewsonic.

actually its the best mouse ive had, and i dont have a lot of deskspace so i kinda needed a flat panel monitor, and it is actully very nice, ill post a vid. of it soon so u can see the whole thing. i chose 4gigs of ram because i do a lot of video editing and 2gigs on my old computer just wasnt cutting it anymore

It also depends upon the speed of the ram, the processor, and a ton of other things. A Windows 32-bit OS ends up using 3.5 gigs of that ram. What's the speed on that RAM? What's your chipset? You left a whole lot of the most important stuff out.

i mean LCDs aren't bad, i have dual monitors running on my desktop and one of them is a Samsung LCD, but i use the CRT for gaming for the higher refresh rates and better pixel definition. to each his own on the mouse, the G5 just isn't for me i guess.
