Re: Post signing.
Do you mind if I emulate you?Damnit. Now I have to explain all this for the 23948239048239th time.
*sighs*
Hokay. The first forum I ever joined, I had a username I didn't like at all, and, considering that, I didn't want to be referred to by it. But I didn't just want to use my regular name; I figured a nickname would be easier to remember.
Now, I'm terrible with names, and I can never remember what people want me to call them. So I figured, 'Why not just put it where everyone can see it at all times? Then they won't have to remember, and I won't have to tell people to call me that or remind them.' It seemed like less trouble for everyone.
And the habit has carried over to all other forums. I mean, why bother only doing it some of the time? That's pointless.
So, yes, there's the logic behind it. Can you stop whining about this now?

And, uh, evilcow, find something else to nitpick.

Re: Post signing.
Use a signature. Just put ~Maggot in your signature and we'll get it. Better yet, why can't make your signature "Just call me Maggot".Damnit. Now I have to explain all this for the 23948239048239th time.

Re: Post signing.
From now on, I'll try to make a habit of avoiding this:
"[Subject] is retarded! Stop it!"
and trying to stick with this:
"I don't really like [subject]. Does anyone else agree with me?"
I think it'd be a bit more forum-friendly, and if people disagree with me, I'd get more of a positive response.

When something irritates me I tend to rant rather than say something like:From now on, I'll try to make a habit of avoiding this:

I don't like it when you people sign your posts, here's why.

Re: Post signing.
Of course not. I'd be honored.1) In my experience, people skip over signatures without meaning to. Again, I know I do that. I've talked to people with their names in their signatures, but I don't notice. If it's in the post, people will notice, which, again, saves everyone trouble, therefore it's not at all pointless.
2) I like to have other things in my signature (I just haven't gotten around to it on here yet).

Re: Post signing.
Not as pointless as wastong space with a crappy thread about something you could just as easily ignore.
