i had some spyware/adware stuff on my comp, all i did was go get a pop up blocker (as a temporary fix) and then dl'd the free version of ad-aware... i run it everytime i start up windows and things are working out really nice for me now... then again it only seemed like i had the spyware for about a week, so it didnt have time to do a lot of damage.
