    I've heard it called "pillbug", "sowbug", and "roly-poly"...usually heard it called roly-poly, though. Used to be tons of them in my backyard. In California, by the way.

        I remember I'd roll those bugs around as a kid. I know them as roly-polys.

                When I used to live in California it was called a rolly-poly. Now I live in Wisconsin and mosty people call it a potato bug.

                    I lived in California and I live in Michigan now in both places everytime someone would see it they would say "Get that Roly-Poly away from me!" That's what people say so i'm gonna go with that.

                            In Toronto, Ontario, you usually hear them called potato bugs but armadillo bugs isn't uncommon either.

                                in Kentucky, we call them either pill bugs or roly-poly's...

                                        isnt roly poly just the common name for them.
                                        i mean.
                                        the roll into a little ball.
                                        and they're super cute.

                                        but yeah, in michigan, we tend to call them rolypolys,
                                        but i have heard armadillo bugs as well.

                                                            Roly polys in Texas and when i lived in Missouri too.
