Right now I am interning at a sound studio in my area called Electric Wilburland. Looking for a part time job but not having any luck. So what is everyone else's plans? I just wanna see if I'm the only non-paid teen on here.

Re: Summer Jobs/Interning
Why not go to a school called The CSB School of Broadcasting? It includes working in a sound studio.

Re: Summer Jobs/Interning
I'm no where near Long Island so thats kinda out of the question. The whole reason I'm doing it is because I had a job shadowing that was sponsored by my school that went extremely well. Also I did not know that the CBS School of Broadcasting existed lol.And the pea mocks me.

Re: Summer Jobs/Interning
Community service. Should total out to 13 hours helping a cute little girl read, and my mission trip (hopefully my last) will total out to... oh, hopefully 20 hours of actual work if I can get some papers signed that say, "yeah, man, I totally did this."
I wish I had a job though. Seriously, I only need $300. Hell, even as little as $150 is nice and I can beg my parents for the rest for Christmas. See, I want to take a summer class for chemistry so I can skip out of it. **** chemistry. I was once interested in it but not anymore! I'll be deciding between honors physics and AP Bio.
Or I could offer my bio teacher and the science-head-guy lots of sex.
Oh, also, another $50 for a lost Spanish book ;_;Last edited by lord_carbo; 06-26-2007, 10:16 PM.Comment

Re: Summer Jobs/Interning
Currently I work at the Education Learning Resource Center on campus, which basically means I get paid to write my term paper. This is my last week, though, and then I'm off to Dallas to kick some more genius ass at TAG.Comment

Re: Summer Jobs/Interning
My dad always told me I couldn't get a job, he'd take care of me, I needed to focus on school, blah, blah, blah, so I just applied at a few places and didn't tell him until I'd been hired.
Then he was all proud because I held down a job, participated in the extracurriculars, and did well in school.Comment

Re: Summer Jobs/Interning
Problem is my parents are refusing to pay for a few colleges I want to go to (Ithaca, Cornell, so on and so on.) I'm applying for scholarships but I would like to have some actual cash to help pay for em. Also it would be nice just to have some money floating around, and this internship is like most others, doing lots of work (as the owner calls it schlepping) and no pay. All is not lost though, I just applied to Toys 'R' Us.And the pea mocks me.

Re: Summer Jobs/Interning
I applied all over my piss small town and so far I got one job which I work 3-5 hours a day every weekend. It's an Italian restaurant where they all speak broken English and sit around a small 'black and white' TV watching soccer. The owner gets pissed off really easily though. I wash dishes there and when I forgot this one time to put the cutlery tray back on the the trolley he exploded. Other than that it's fine and will probably continue to do it after the summer.
Also at 1-2PM EST I'm going to a job interview at Pizza Nova so I can work more hours in the summer. I went there once to follow up on my resume and he got pissed. I said
"I submitted a resume and I was" (cuts me off)
"Annnnd?"
" I was wondering if you checked up on it..."
"NO!!! We call YOU! You don't call US!"
But yeah in the end he called me...I'm leaving in like 10 minutes.Comment
