Re: Summer Jobs/Interning
Retail isn't bad at all, unless you count the holiday season. I was a temp for Aeropostale during the last holiday season and it was hell on black Friday weekend. Food is the one place I can not stand to be in though (thank you Wendy's).And the pea mocks me.

Re: Summer Jobs/Interning
At my job, the only day in the entire year that you get off is Christmas Day.

Re: Summer Jobs/Interning
Aeropostale is nothing like department stores around the holidays.
Try having to get to work at 4:30 to open at 5:30 and being unable to find a parking space because already there are 60 old people banging on the door wondering why you would have the nerve to not be open an hour early.
I have never hated myself more than I did the day after Thanksgiving.
Then I found Andy's dad wandering around the pants section at like 6:00 am and laughed at him for being out so godawful early.Comment

Re: Summer Jobs/Interning
I still work at McDonalds, all year round. Mom didn't really give me an option about getting a job or good grades...it was both >_> and mcdonalds was the first place that hired me.
It's not too bad because I can mold my schedule as I see fit. I guess right now I'm working 20-30h a week, but trying to get to 30+.

Re: Summer Jobs/Interning
I work at Rumbi Island Grill. http://www.rumbi.com I've been working ther since mid march. Its a new restaurant and is expanding really fast. I just became a shift lead a couple weeks ago.
I work about 35-40hrs a week. I make like 11.25 an hour lol. But I'm having a lot of fun working there, my boss is auwesome! The food is really good and a lot of very attractive girls work there, so I can't complaine about that.

Re: Summer Jobs/Interning
The department store I worked at wasn't terrible -- pay was good, and I worked in the men's department, and 99.5% of the time men are MUCH easier to deal with than women. I've thought about going back next year because the hours at my work-study job aren't really working with my internship/class schedule, and if I'm only going to be able to pull 15 hours a week, I might as well get paid $8.00/hr + credit card commissions, but my manager got fired and I'm not sure I could handle working under anyone else. =(Comment
