Some people in cities where it takes a car to get around don't have a choice.

Well isn't that amazing? They can still afford it and still drive a vehicle.

They are making cars that get 30-40 MPG and guess what I have 2 vehicles that by adding the combined mpg won't add up to 30mpg.

The only people that complain are the ones who think $100-$200 a month for transportation is a "hit" in their pocket books.

If you need a vehicle SO bad then do some money saving techniques....for example

Disconnect the cable ($30-$40 month bill)

Disconnect the internet ($30-$50 month bill and local libaries have it for free)

Cook at home

and so on (Now I am not implying that you can't afford it I am just making a generalization)

$1.09 per litre, which is $4.13 per gallon. Assuming an 85% exchange rate, that's about US$3.50 per gallon. Sucks to be Canadian, no?

i dont really know, but my dad can fill up his 4x4 with just over $50. I think thats pretty cool with me.

hahaha, people who pay for gas... Actually, I paid for all my own gas when I was driving. But now that I'm living in the city, I'm pretty much stuck with public transportation which sucks, but atleast I don't have to worry about gas.

There are people out here who quite literally have to decide, "food and utility bills or transportation?" These are typically the people with older cars who can't afford to get a brand spankin' new $25,000 50mpg car.

Pippin and I live in the same area, and now it's about $3.33. We live in a Chicago suburb, which tends to be a lot less that in the city. I'd hate to see what prices look like in there... aside from Canada, I think we're getting the worst deal....

I was in indiana yesterday where gas is supposed to be cheap but it was 3.29Wow 3-4 cents cheaper

It's $1.13 a liter here. So 4.28 a gallon.

None of you have the right to complain about gas prices !

I was totally lost and thought americans were goddamn crazy until I read this post and realized litres vs gallons.

It seems to be around a dollar and a bit here I think. I don't really pay attention. I don't drive a vehicle: I bike, walk, and bus - in fact I don't even have my license. Maybe other urbanites should consider public transportation as well. IMO only rural residents need vehicles. In cities you can bus and taxi anywhere.

I remember the good old days, when it was below $1. $.79 was the lowest I've ever seen it.

EDIT: Nice truck, drugstore, mine looks just like that, except it's green and it's a Mazda B2500, which is a ranger with a M stuck on it...

If only gas were $4 a gallon here.

Manchester, UK - 93.9 pence per litre
= £3.559 per gallon (US gallon)
= $7.09 per gallon (US)

We use the imperial gallon, which is about 20% larger. Gas is $8.50 per imperial gallon here. Most of the difference from prices in North America is heavy taxation. Luckily, I'm a non-driver.
