    Emo Vs Hip-hop.

Throw out your gun and bling and pick up a razor and some black hair dye.

It has seemed that the gangster/hip-hop fad is slowly being replaced with the emo/punk scene. I've noticed this in popular music on radio, popular music video channels (Much music, MTV) and basically anywhere on the streets. People are getting crazy haircuts, wearing scary bondage clothing and speaking a little bit better (no more "HEY G!", now it's sophisticated from all the death poetry they write, hehe jk)
I guess this is okay... it seems that people in gangs got so bored of killing other people that they decided to start hurting themselves lol.
But on a more serious note, has anyone noticed that rap/hip-hop is being pushed out, and emo/punk is coming in?

No, as a matter of fact. First of all, this is going to sound real defensive, but emo and punk aren't similar. Punk is actually hardcore, emo isn't. Onto the actual change in scene. I believe the next generation is going to bring on an onslaught of pussy bands. If you ever watch VH1's you oughta know you'll understand where I'm coming from. The Fray and all these other slow bands that are destroying any hardcore that this society had left. Emo is just more prominent right now because it's the more hated of the social cliques. Prep is going to come back within the next 3 years. Polo shirts, nice pressed jeans, the clean haircut, etc. That's my prediction

Well... I like alot of hardcore, *finds a toonie, SWEET!* k anyways... I guess a more preppy punk is expected then, but I don't see the new in flames or bullet for my valentine playing all over the place, it's all that unspeakable emo sad stuff. Why do they always play the BAD music?

people might not be so prone to think that if well, you know, not every generic emo going around talked about how they slit their wrists and doing whatever other things that they claim to do that would bring harm on them

I don't like emo's. I don't like gangsters. Why can't people stop making fools out of themselves. Grabbing their balls, wearing make-up, singing, dancing, etc...

                        Re: Emo Vs Hip-hop.

The whole idea of cutting yourself or being depressed and suicidal is the exact opposite of human nature and it is wrong. I think it's absolutely ****ing stupid to be "emo", not saying i have a good understanding of it. For the most part they all wear black and guys wear tight pants and they all dye their hair black and 10 other colors at once, and they "cut themselves to relieve stress". ROFL man up and find other ways to relieve stress...Not saying all "emo" people do that but emo stands for emotional which often comes from depression which leads to suicidal. In their case, emotional stands for sad, hurt, and alone.

People are losing their basic instincts of survival and giving up on life... How could something as great as life be given up on?
