its waaaaaay out dated like from 97 out dated and I recommend saving your money and buying a new computer. You can get a pretty decent dell for like $400.
Don't get a manufactured piece of ****, whatever you do.
Get a motherboard as djshox suggested. There's even a bunch of CPU + motherboard combos out there that cost about a hundred dollars. And that's about all you want to spend unless you're actually going to buy a quality computer (!)

Ha. $5000 for a comp. is almost definitely a rip off. I build gaming PCs, and they usually are only worth 2k max, and these are kick-ass computers. I hope that $5000 includes at least a 20 inch CGI, nice keyboard, and a nice mouse, or you are probably getting ripped to shit. Post specs?

I am way too exhausted to post entire specs, but let me put it this way:
It's an extremely fast, high-end PC I'm using for audio creation. And I'm building it myself, of course, so why would I be getting ripped off?
True, you can create a great gaming PC for 2k... but...
Let's say I want to put an Intel X6800 in a gaming rig. Unless I'm getting some sort of a deal on it, that's about $1,000 by itself.
And I'm getting a quad core CPU, as well as the best audio card around, with the best case I've ever laid eyes on (which costs around $300, also..)
I'll post finished specs when I'm sure of every single component.

Each memory slot can hold DDR PC2700,DDR PC3200 with a maximum of 1GB per slot.*
*Not to exceed manufacturer supported memory.
Maximum Memory Capacity: 2048MB
Currently Installed Memory: 256MB
Available Memory Slots: 1
Number of Banks: 2
Dual Channel Support: No
CPU Manufacturer: GenuineIntel
CPU Family: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.06GHz Model 2, Stepping 7
CPU Speed: 3066 MHz
Q: What memory goes into my computer, and can I mix speeds? A: DDR memory with support for DDR PC2700,DDR PC3200 speeds.
Because DDR memory is backward-compatible, you can safely upgrade your system with any of the guaranteed-compatible DDR speeds listed below, even if your manual calls for PC1600 or PC2100 speeds.
Q: How much memory can my computer handle? A: 2048MB.
Adding the maximum amount of memory will improve performance and help extend the useful life of your system as you run increasingly demanding software applications in the future.
Q: Do I have to install matching pairs? A: No.
No, you can install modules one at a time, and you can mix different densities of modules in your computer. But if your computer supports dual-channel memory configurations, you should install in identical pairs (preferably in kits) for optimal performance.
Q: Does my computer support ECC memory? A: No.
Your system does not support ECC. Because ECC and non-ECC modules should not be mixed within a system, install the same type of modules that are already in your system.
You just answered your own question by the last post.
And uh, 256 ram is... FAIL.
1gb of ram would suit you better.
in this day and age, 512 is MINIMAL.

Well, my question is, if you already could have found the answer out by yourself.... why did you ask?
