I got a job at Main Event tonight. My job title will be Game Room Technician. For those who live within Houston, I'll be working at the Webster location, but I'll be getting my training working at The Woodlands/Shenandoah location. All I will be doing is fixing games and what not.

I'll be working at the Webster location:

The Webster location has 5,000 more sq ft than The Woodlands/Shenandoah location.

I'll be getting payed $6.75 an hour, but maybe more since I do have previous experience.

Looks like a lot of fun.

I just went in for an interview at Circuit City today. From the way things went, the chances of me getting a job there are pretty good. I'm supposed to get a call tomorrow or Saturday, and I just can't wait for that phone to ring.

Then there's my testimonial. I can't stand the customers, but it's the management in my store that irritates me the most. It's not even for what they do to me. It's the stupid policies and rip-offs they try to pull and the mistreatment of some of my fellow employees that I can't stand.

I'm looking into getting a job in the computer assistance office in one of the buildings at my university. THAT will be awesome. I did it in high school and loved it.

I second this, my first job was bagging groceries at my local Kroger, the management there was horrible, as were the customers. Wednesdays were Senior Citizens discount days, I hated that day, all they did was walk in, stink up the store and leave without saying anything to you. I was 15 when I got that job.

Then I tried Publix, better pay (I was paid minimum wage at Kroger, it was around $8 here), but they made me shave my beard and say the same lines to every customer that went by. I was cashier, by the way.

I'm applying to Gamestop now, I told them i betatested for a while and am about to take my A+ exam with in depth technical know-how. I'm more or less guaranteed that job, just have to wait till I'm not busy with school-work; around May or so.

All in all, retail industries suck unless you work in the back and have little to no human interaction.

I have you all beat with the "Job suck" bit. I was this past week the Easter Bunny for my local mall. All my freaking friends kept coming to bug me and to top it all of some little kid threw up on me 4 times today. Apparently the mom wanted her money's worth. Other than that congradulations man, I'm applying for a position at my local arcade as well. Hope you enjoy taxes!

Don't know how much I'm getting paid yet. I think it'll be decent, though.

Guys, I worked in customer service in a family amusement center. Now, I loved the people I worked with, and dealing with most people, but overall the work sucked. I don't think a job in retail could get any worse than working in 100+ degree heat with a 'tard helmet on trying to grab yarmulkes off a go-kart track without getting hit. Oh, and did I mention getting paid 6 bucks an hour for it eight hours straight with only one 30-minute lunch break?

Plus, I don't mind making sales pitches all day and getting paid for it. I like human interaction. Are all you guys introverted or something? Because interaction is something I look for in a job...

PS DotC: Your chances of getting a job at GameStop are very low. A new store is opening two blocks away from me. I handed an application to the store's soon-to-be manager the day it was announced that she would be taking the manager position there. No call for a while. Three weeks later I go to a store about fifteen or so miles away and find out it was already fully staffed. I was pissed. After that ****, I have a beef with GameStop and doubt it'll be my first choice for buying games.

I already talked to the manager, supposedly I have the position, all I have to do is get done with school and I can start working there. I doubt they're going to hold the position for another month and a half, but there's nothing wrong with having blind faith.

I found that extremely enlightening. I'm looking for something part-time over the summer, and I was considering a place like EB or GameStop. At least at the end, one of the guys says it's pretty decent to work part-time.

I hear Best Buy treats their employees like absolute ****. Not the managers, but corporate as far as salary, responsibilities, and benefits. But maybe that's just around here.
