His power supply is more than adequete for the stuff he is running. I assume it's ~300 watts.
Right, you are going to want to set the new HDD to primary slave by putting the plastic jumper over the prongs on it. Usually there is a pic over each prong.
Ram, as Pscho already said, just pops in when you unhitch each end. Look for two long 84 pin brackets to pop it in.
