Seriously, I have been getting way into dnd. I bought the players guide, Monster Manual and tons of minatures. It is sooo good. I love being a nerd.

I've got... about 30 different manuals and 200+ figurines. Not to mention 200+ dice. I used to have a d30, but I somehow lost it. That was awesome, although you needed a huge amount of room to roll it; the sides were really tiny. I also had a d100... same thing. Both were also quite large. Like 4x the volume of a d20.RIPComment

Re: I really like dnd
Yeah, I have a d100, it's pretty much a ball. You can't use it for dnd though. He who angers you conquers you. ~Elizabeth KennyComment

Re: I really like dnd
you CAN... you just need a lot of room to roll it. Like, an entire room.
Also, I haven't been in a serious campaign since HS. Kinda sucks... since it was my Junior year of HS when 3rd edition came out. Be SO glad that you never had to play 2nd edition. 50x more confusing, trying to work on thaco and ac, not to mention no set way of working skills and no feats at all. plus classes were much more imbalanced.
Only thing I don't like particularly is how gimped multi-classes are in 3rd ed and also how easy it is to level. 2nd ed took hours and hours and hours to level. I had a campaign with about 3 years of play on it, and the whole party was only lv. 14. Had it been in 3rd ed, we'd have been mid 20s, easily.
PS - when I first read "dnd", I thought you were saying Do Not Disturb. don't use dnd. D&D.RIPComment

www.wizards.com/dnd It's official tass.
Yeah, it's into the 3.5 handbook now and it's still tons to learn. But I like it. Besides, multiclassing sucks. He who angers you conquers you. ~Elizabeth KennyComment

Yeah... i got to a nerdy school, we have a D&D club
we have some kid, he has about 90% of the books... memorized.
yeah but its definetly fun.
The video games made weren't half bad either - just not enough campaigns.Comment

Re: I really like dnd
3.5 vs 3.0 are not very different at all. SLIGHT adjustments to certain things, balance issues and what not. 3.5 came out about 1 year after 3.0... really pissed me off, since I bought 3.0 core books. Stupid TSR wanting me to drop another 100 on 3.5 core books. I said screw that.RIPComment

3.5 is so much better though. He who angers you conquers you. ~Elizabeth KennyComment

Re: I really like dnd
3.0 and 3.5 only have minor differences... but, yea. the minor changes made in 3.5 are like a patch to a video game. they fix many small problems that collectively make a big difference.
*shrugs* not worth the extra 100, IMO, especially since I rarely DM and therefore really don't NEED 3.5 books.RIPComment

Re: I really like dnd
Yeah, my friends DM and he is using a 3.0 adventure but a 3.5 DM guide and he says its pretty much the same, but 3.5 is a ton easier to understand. More user friendly. He who angers you conquers you. ~Elizabeth KennyComment

Re: I really like dnd
you really don't know what you're talking about then... 3.0 and 3.5 are LITERALLY the same exact thing...
think of it this way: there are 500 pages of books between the DM and PH. Figure a total of 5 of those pages were changed to make 3.5 better than 3.0
the only thing I can think of is that you're thinking of 2.0... which I do find hard to believe, as you'd have been about 10 when 3.0 came out. but like I said above, 2.0 was INCREDIBLY confusing. 3.0 is not confusing at all, neither is 3.5RIPComment

Re: I really like dnd
So, when are we gonna do another FFR D&D quest? The first one was too much fun...
