i was once a nerd but then i got lazy. So i fell into the 'loser' Category, but these days im considered a 'emo ***' who is also becoming nerdy cause i got a A on my maths exam.

I categorize nerd as someone who spends more than four hours on the computer per day. People don't really know I'm a nerd at school cause I don't go around flaunting it or talking about it cause it's just a small part of who I am. A nerd is someone who knows how to use a torrent downloader such as TorrentStorm or BitTorrent and downloads gigabytes at a time. Someone who has complete series of television shows on their computer. More movies on their computer than in real life.

A nerd, in my opinion, is someone who is not accepted as much in society, so he/she turns to other things for "comfort" such as video games, computer, technology, schoolwork, etc. Just because someone is smart doesn't make them a nerd. I'm not sure what to classify myself because I do very well in school, but I'm very athletic and have a lot of friends. Its all just a matter of your own personal classifcation of people. Being a nerd isn't a bad thing, just like being a jock isn't neccessarliy a good thing.

Nerds are everything that people have said so far. Once you get out in the real world you become a specialist (or expert) and are no longer a nerd XD.
