Typhoid Fever...

If you want to know what typhoid fever is like you're stupid. I just got out of the hospital from having the flu and typhoid fever. My parents brought it back from the country Belize and no one else got it except for me. I was in my bed the first two days totally delirious. No one was here to see me utterly helpless for those days then my parents came back from another vacation from Belize and thought I was on drugs and had to send me to rehab. Anyways my parents brought me to hospital and I honestly dont remember anything passed being wheeled into the hospital, I dont remember the Emergency room, a catheder, an NG tube through my nose to keep from puking all over myself. For 4 straight days I was entirely delirious with a constant fever of atleast 104 degrees. I had dreams that spanned in my memory as entire movies, one literally had johnny depp in it as an art theif and drug addict in a medieval time. Another was about extreme racism, with God at the end setting the black people free from a million year long tyranny. I lost 20lbs and the first day I was delirious I couldnt lift my arms, they brought me food and all I could do was look at it...

Typhoid Fever is a rare bacterial infection thats life threatening if ignored, it can be deadly if left untreated. It's not in America really it's primarily in 3rd world countries like Belize where it was brought back to me to get insanely. The doctors would ask me questions like "What Month is it?" or "What hospital are you in?" and even "What's your full name?" and I was so delirious I didn't know those things except my full name but it still took a while to reassure my name. It's really annoying to not know where you are and what month let alone what day it is.... They ask you that stuff to keep your brain working. Anyways I had to learn how to walk again pretty much, I couldn't barely stand up straight without leaning over and stumbling... I was lucky to get out of the hospital today because they said I'm having a weird problem with my heart rate going up to like the 160 beats per minute when I stood up, but as soon as I laid down it went down to 50bpm... I have to see 4 different doctors outpatient which blows because that means i'm going to see 7 doctors total. Anyways being that sick is scary, feeling like your brain damaged and unable to lift your arms or sit up without struggling. I have no idea why Karma did that to me, I've been decent so maybe something good is coming my way...

Nope I'm in the USA, it was just brought back from a 3rd world country named Belize...

I really wasn't being serious about the Africa thing. It's just that Typhoid is generally not got in the US. Mostly third world countries, like Belize for example.

Man that's horrible. I hope you have a quick recovery and feel better soon. Being in a hospital bed like that and feeling so helpless to control yourself is one of the worst things. I've been like that but it was my fault. You should kick your parents in the nuts.

They were less like delusions more than total memory lose and crazy dreams that make me feel like I was somewhere else and not really knowing what I was doing there. Anyways the delusions weren't the bad symptoms of Typhoid.... If you read the other symptoms I had them all.... Not too fun....

Crazy dreams and delusions are the fun part about being sick. I once had a conversation with my wall when I was really ill with the flu. Too bad you hardly feel rested after all the sleep you get.

Wow, and I thought stomach flu was bad. I puked about four or five times with nothing in my stomach, so all I puked was bile. After about the fifth time, I was too weak to go back to bed and passed out on my bathroom floor. Whenever I wasn't puking, I was writhing from the pain, trying to sip cola that I eventually threw up. The hospital gave me 3 IV bags and my stomach eventually calmed down.

Typhoid fever seems about 10 times worse, and hell, I was in A LOT of pain from stomach flu. It's a good thing it's not common here.

Hope you've been feeling better and that your recovery's quick. It's not easy being sick with something other than a cold.
