    My Backyard is Flooded.

Lowqual image, but note the LEANING BASKETBALL HOOP. The ground collapsed underneath it, and the base filled with water, so now it's nice and uneven.

This is all runoff/rain that we've gotten from past snowfall, and it all melted very quickly. Three underpasses and a landfill were closed from this. Now my basement has 18 inches of contaminated water, due to a broken, underground septic tank that nobody knew about.

It sucks when people don't know about stuff in/around/under their houses.

        SWEET!

Unless you have to pay for damages. Then it's not sweet.

I don't know about you, Omega, but whether I had to pay for it or not, I wouldn't want a food and a half of septic water in my basement.

It would suck to have my backyard flooded. It could happen though. If my pool exploded my backyard would be full. Or it would just blow down the fence and send into my neighbors "junk yard" and to the others massive pile of dirt. The dirt mound would make the water muddy and when it went away, everything would be crusted in mud. If the water did go in to the junk yard thing, an entire population of rats would be killed.

Well the junk yard ppl deserve it! There leeching off my damn wireless internet! I hope they die, for slowing me down 5kb/s......

Well anyways, Spazzbite, I feel sorry for you. Are there fish in the water? If so send me one.

My backyard flooded once. It was about to my knees, but I was like 12 at the time. My basement has flooded several times, but we recently got it floodproof'd.

Yeah, our house is about 70 years old, so who knows what the damage is going to be like. We have some pretty important stuff in the basement, so I'm starting to wonder how it fared. We also have to go awhile without heat until my dad finishes pumping all the water out.

on a more serious note, I had about 2 inches of water in my basement a while ago because our washer did something I guess it's not supposed to do? it wasn't very cool.

Good luck with everything, I know what it's like having a flooded basement, not to fun. When my family and I went on vacation a couple years ago my basement ended up flooding. There was no more than 5 inches down there but it was torture to clean up. My brother's legos were floating all over the place, one of the game systems and two controllers were ruined, and pretty much everything that was wet had to get thrown away.

Sooo many people with basements. I personally only have 2 floors. With a 3-foot high Dirt floored basement. If you could even call it a basement. Its a crawl-space so you can get to the main water valve. Well, the one year my dad wanted to build some stairs at the side of the house to try to get down there. We had very heavy rain. It was insane. It was about 4 feet deep full of water. It was all muddy and ucky. I was so tempted to jump in, and I did. I am a decent swimmer and i easily got out. But as I learned recently, when water is discolored it has heavy sustained particles in it. And I had ruined my clothes because the mud had dried on inside outside and Inbetween the shits layers, and my pants. That was the stupidest idea of my life. But it was OSM!

Here in sunny so-cal we don't flood. We die of heatstroke and senior citizens.
