supposedly they're hard now, but I think that adding an essay just makes it easier - its like instant points
It's a 25 minute 5 paragraph essay. That's not all that easy man.
    !?

I hear they don't even take points for wrong facts and false information XD what a joke.

Our english tests are like 2000+ words, and we'll get ripped apart at the site of a false statement. A 25 minute essay is nothing >.>

But I didn't have to write the sat ^___^ just other forms of standardized testing now. Good luck with them all.

      RE: Re: RE: Hoboy.

I'm actually a Junior, I'm just taking them early.

Anyway, the essay was piss easy. The topic was like, "Teachers havea variety of strategies in today's world. Do you think it is more important for the teacher to have a solid grasp of their subject matter, or to have effective communication skills in the classroom?" Something like that. That's what it was asking, anyway.

I argued that it was more important for the teacher to have effective communication skills. I cited John Oglermeyer's 2003 Cambridge "Study of Adolescent Development," which conveniently happened to exactly corrolate with my thesis, and the entire point of my essay.

In other words, it's 100% bullshit. Made it up, start to finish. The magical thing about this (take note kiddies), is that they have no less than 400 HUNDRED FUCKING BILLION essays to grade in a few weeks. They're not going to actually check if John Oglermeyer did some study or not. All they're looking to see is if you can present a valid argument, with a quality thesis. Put all the commas in the right place, add a couple of buzzwords, and you're golden. That, boys and girls, is the formula for a perfect ACT or SAT essay.

If they graded high school AP english classes on the same standard they do ACT/SAT essays, I'd get straight A's without even trying.

The only people I know in my school that have taken/will take the ACTs are a few asians(our moms all know each other), probably because we're in Massachusetts.

That's good that your already taking the ACT Anti, and nice job with an outside source. When I took the ACT it didnt have an essay. Are you definitely taking the SAT too?

            Yup. Nov 5th. So nervous.

And by the way, you do know that source I cited was pure and utter bs, right?

I never took the ACTs ever in my life, and I never will.

1420 on the old SAT, though.
So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(

In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.

So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
And I write the blog for their website.

Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =O

I haven't taken the SAT yet. My parents were all like "DO A GOOD JOB ON THE PSAT THEY BASE SCHOLARSHIPS ON IT LFDSFLDSFJ" I was just like "okay". I wasn't nervous at all, it was kind of simple except for the part where I needed to know really complex words and their definitions...which I didn't but I just took educated guesses. I'm pretty good with standardized testing.

You'll do fine, i'm sure, Anti.

                    RE: Re: RE: Hoboy.

yeah PSATs are better because you don't have to stay for 3 hours and 45 minutes.
Regular SATs are waaay too long.

I took the PSAT this year, even though I'm a sophomore, just for the heck of it. To see how good I'd do without studying at all. I'm pretty sure I aced the math part again - I got every question. Just hope I didn't make any stupid mistakes.

SATs are a joke. There is no way that they are going to put any effort into the essay. From what I hear.
Just writing it legibly : 3/6
                    Writing 2 pages: 4/6
Being on topic & using legible grammar/spelling: 5/6
Using a thesis statement, with some kind of structure: 6/6

                    Thesis Statement
                    2 pages
                    conclusion

all on topic gives you a six, its just writing about whatever comes to mind. The biggest misconception about the SATs is that they are hard.

I shat on my SAT and they gave me a 2400 back when the maximum was 1600.

Wow. I wish I had the moral integrity (or lack of) to have thought of making up an outside source. That's awesome, and I'm going to do that myself.
