Dunno if I'll be around tomorrow afternoon, depending on the course of the storm we may head back as early as noon tomorrow if it turns out to be a pushover.
Yeah that sux totally. It'll happen some time though, maybe when another hurricane chases me up through Waco (which looks like it might happen in a week...)
I made it back safely, stuff got backed up in some places but luckily we used a GPS locator to get back via dirt roads and backhole places that were completely empty.
My trip was fun...30 hours just to get out of the Houston area; nearly running out of gas: 1/4 tank of gas, turned of a/c to save gas, my older sister's cat nearly died of heat stroke, and I almost passed out by the heat; found gas at Brookshire, Texas...thank you Brookshire (west of Katy and east of Sealy); got to drive on the left side of the freeway (I-10) due to contra-flow.
The bad thing is it took my mother only 10 hours and she left 2 or 3 hours after me, my older sister, younger brother, my dad, the two dogs and one cat left. My mother ended up taking 59 West out of Houston and then hopped onto I-10 West at Sealy while the rest of the family took SH-146 North, Beltway 8 West, Sam Houston Tollway, and finally got onto I-10.
