So you think the Red Sox will re-catch and pass the Yankees? And, it is highly likely that whoever is #2 in the AL East won't get the WC. Indians are just as hot as the Yankees. Both are 9-1 in the last 10.

Also, you feel the Astros will be able to hold off the Phillies? Last nights win for the Phils was unbelievably impressive (you should catch the highlights if you missed it). This is the 2nd time in 1 week the Phils have trailed by 2+ runs in the 9th and won. Scored 10 runs against the Marlins in the 9th to win 10-2 last week, and now scored 5 runs in the 9th to win 11-10 after winning 6-1 and giving up 9 straight runs.

Very impressive if you ask me... and I'm not at all biased. Also, Clemens is out... you have to favor the Cubs today with Zambrano, and Eric "Gopher Ball" Milton is pitching against the Phils and Brito today. And, Brito has been damn impressive as late season call-up rookie so far.

Honestly, I can see the Phils using the momentum they've picked up the past week and taking it to the playoffs. Unfortunately they'll have to play the Cardinals in the 1st round...

Not to mention your playoff brackets are wrong (I think)... If the best record plays the worst record, then your NL is wrong... if the best record plays the worst record, but the WC doesn't play their own division champ, then your AL is wrong. No matter now you cut it, one of your leagues is wrong. That and the Red Sox will be the team short, not the Yankees. Yankees are ON FIRE.

Mainly because their pitching staff is now stepping up.

        Johnson, Moose, Wang/Chacon/Wright

Chacon has been unbelievable lately, would have pitched a CG shutout if they didn't take him out to give the bullpenn a chance.

Hitting has always been there, A-rod sheff etc.

Oh... just noticed. No wonder Night is so stubborn about the Astros. He's from Houston.

Personally, if you're going to talk about things that are general and involve lots of teams, you gotta be unbiased. I honestly think that after last night (if you asked me yesterday, I'd say the Phillies did NOT make the playoffs), the Phils will win the WC. But, they won't make it past St. Louis.

I'm realistic. No chance in hell Houston wins the WS. Their hitting is down right atrocious.

EDIT: WS will come down to St. Lous vs Either Yankees or Cleveland. Hot teams win World Serieses, not teams with the best records. Then again, not team is really HOT in the NL, but St. Louis has been excellent all season.

            Indians won't make it either.

There pitching does not have enough talen nor experience to win the big game, while the rest of there game is crisp.

Bo-sox have no bullpen, Foulke's out for the season, Schilling is progressing, but there hitting is on fire as always.

White Sox will be out first round.

Dodgers will get sweept in the first round.

Philly will lose in the NLCS to Cardinals.

Yanks have a shot if they can their pitching steps up.

Dodgers won't even make it to the playoffs.

I have confidence in my BoSox. Of the 9 games left, 7 of them are at home - 4 hosting Tampa Bay (3-1 series win at worst) and 3 hosting New York, which will be huge. That series will be a step above playoff atmosphere. Just need to weather the storm in Baltimore while the Yanks sweep the Jays. If we can go into the final week 2 games back I will be pleased.

Yanks have to go on the road for their final 7 games. Admittedly the Orioles aren't stellar, but they're not getting swept out of their own town.

The Houston Astros would have probably had a chance against the Boston Red Sox if they didnt lose in game 5 in the NLCS. The St. Louis Cardinals beat the Astros in the NLCS and ended up getting swept in the WS. The Astros probably would have pushed the Red Sox to game 7. They push the Braves and the Cardinals to game 5 in the 2004 Playoffs.

The phillies were amazing the other night in that 11-10 win, the reel was awesome.

I really think that its going to come down to the last three games of the season, red sox vs yankees, tie in the AL east. It's hard to say what will go on there... anything can happen. There is just so much fire between the two teams. The Red Sox have decent (not great by any stretch) starting pitching. Their bullpen has some good minor league call ups. Jon Papelbon and Craig Hansen to be specific. I think those two will get in with the team, they are really good. Timlin should be decent. Sox bullpen doesn't "not exist", its names aren't just very famous (like Rivera's is for the yankees).

There is always the longshot possibility that the white sox will drop out behind the Indians, AND fall in the wild card. If the sox and yankees keep winning then the white sox may drop back far enough in the wild card. I personally think the white sox can hold on, but not by much. The Indians are MUCH better at this point.

I really don't have much to say about the NL wild card <_<. The Marlins seem out of it though, 4GB, they aren't gonna make it unless they go 8-0 or something <_<.

                  Revised picks:
                  AL:
Sox/Yankees (can't decide, its too close to call >_<)
                  Indians
                  Angels
                  WC: White Sox

                  NL:
                  Braves
                  Cardinals
                  Padres
                  WC: Phillies

Sorry, but the red sox were plain dominating last year. They had Pedro, Schilling, and Foulke along with a pwninating offense that was on fire. I don't think the astros would have done well. If the cardinals got swept with their pwn team then I don't know what to say. They had pujols edmonds rolen renteria walker etc. They were really good.

                      As for current stuff.
The Red Sox are now tied for the lead in the AL East with the yankees. The yankees lost ground against the Indians in the wild card (technically, they are in it now <__<) The AL east is a pindrop between those two teams. I think cleveland is the only lock in the AL right now... they should be able to get in easily.

The phillies lost a close one to the cubs today and the astros beat the cubs. The Astros wild card lead is up to 2 games. This is a key win for the astros and something that will be difficult for the Phillies to overcome. I don't know here.. the Astros are doing pretty good. Not enough to make me change my pick, but enough to give them a look.

RedSox Yankees and Indians are all tied right now
(all a few back of the white sox)

who do you think is in and who do you think is out?

I think Cleveland is going to drop the ball. The Sox and Yanks are showing no signs of slowing down while the Indians are going out and losing to Tampa Bay.

But the Sox and Yanks have to beat each other up for 3 games. I think that will give CLE the room to slip into the WC.

It all depends on what happens between now and then

last I checked the scores were
                              BOS-5 TOR - 4
                              NYY- 1 BAL- 5
                              TB - 1 CLE - 0

it was funny, I was watching the red sox game, and the crowd randomly started cheering amidst an at bat because a 5 was put up for the orioles on the scoreboard XD
