I thought this would be blizzard's first flop... I thought that it was too ambitious for them to take on, especially in an oversaturated market...

I was wrong. One of the most popular games ever.

Zajac... I feel you dog. Back when I was in HS... aka, from Dec 25th 1999 until June of 2002, or about 2.5 years... I practically LIVED on the Thistledown server of Asheron's Call.

Numerous characters, with my main OVER the level cap of 126 (aprox 4 billion exp when the ave high level monster gave 10k-15k each. It took FOREVER to get lv. 126, even with EXP Chains through the monarch system). Took me over 2 years to reach the level cap, and wound up giving my account away at the equivalent of lv. 128.

There were many, many, many weeks where I played 60+ hours. I was one of the more well known characters on the server, etc, etc. Thousands of posts on IGNs vnboards for the server. If I wasn't playing the game, I was reading the server message board.

I feel ya dog. AC was also one of the causes of the breakup of my gf and I at the time (we started dating a few months before I got AC, broke up a few months before I quit playing). The other being the fact that I take craps with higher intelligence and that she was kind of stalking me.
