Here's the deal, folks, I've got myself a nice worm called w32.Alcra.B and Norton won't kill it. I keep getting two notices at a time every 30 seconds saying "you've got this thing." Help me out, would you?
Yeah, Norton sucks hardcore. First of all, get AVG Anti-Virus (www.grisoft.com), awesome, free virusscan utility that takes very little resources and will scan every morning for you. Second, if that doesn't get rid of everything, try PC-Cillin's Sysclean (www.trendmicro.com). Run it, run it again in safe mode, I promise it'll get rid of every virus you have.
(To access safe mode, start tapping F8 continually after your computer's POST).
Official Definition: W32.Alcra.B is a worm that propagates through file-share networks and attempts to disable several programs on the compromised computer.

I scan stuff I don't trust with http://virusscan.jotti.org . It has a nice group of scanners, and it scans files up to 10MB(usually viruses are packed into small files because people have no reason to make something huge just to infect it).
