The story was an amusing read, I found the comments made about it on the page very funny.
While the guy was kind of underhanded for "encouraging" his date to buy those Blue Label drinks, I'd have to say that his date deserved that bill. The guy's date shouldn't assume the the guywill pay for her becuase there's no written rule that a guy should pay for his date. Since this was their first date, they probably weren't even close with other.
