It all depends on the player. My friend is really good with Pikachu, so I end up having to be cheap to beat him. Ahh.. I love Fox's up charge attack.

I still haven't earned enough points to buy all the items. I've bought one of everything and that's it.

I've been playing time attack alot trying to beat stage J. That stage is crazy.

RE: Re: RE: Getting "in the zone"

I'm hardly ever not 'in the zone' as you put it. The only time I'm not is when I first play a new game and still need to think about what I'm doing. But after I get the controls and general movement down, I don't think about what I'm doing at all.

I beat Stage J, it took me like 2 hours and like 100 tries, but I did it.

And, wow, I had 10 lives on 2000 and I barely beat it. Not to mentin the fact that I was Holinger-Z and could be hit once before dying.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Getting "in the zone"

I get to the end of Stage J and I miss one of those block 'elevators' and I have to restart. It gets annoying after the 50th time.

During missions, if I get lucky, one of the undergrounder things gives me a one-up. I end up running out of air alot, though.

Anyway, back on topic, I used to get in the zone while I was playing Stepmania. Mainly because I liked the music and there was nothing to distract me. Now, my graphics card is messed up and I can't play stepmania anymore.

DWI could help you there I guess. The only reason I have it is because my video card isn't good enough to run SM either =\

Anyways yeah...but it's not JUST games that this happens to me. Piano is another thing. If I've played the song a good couple of times, I can just sit there and not even think about it, and somehow manage to play it perfectly. It's weird :S

It's not instinct.. bad word for it... more like muscle memory.

In any case, yea I can be focused and "in the zone" so to speak. I would consider that playing/doing good for your level of skill.

Today I was in the zone for SM, every once in awhile I'll actually do good in Counter Strike, I get in DDR zones all the time but I don't play much anymore, I get in the zone in Timesplitters 2 and Gunbound too. It's like I'm watching someone else play, but from the first person. Kinda like through my eyes, but the rest of my body is some super-good player of whatever game I'm playing. This also happens to me when I play hacky-sack.

Stay on topic. Don't post random crap. Don't troll.
Good advice for a bad poster.

Anyway, I just really went in the zone playing HL2 for the first time. I thought I had been playing for about a half hour, but I looked over at the clock and 3 hours had passed... scary.

I get "In the zone" whenever I have dreams that include Tom Felton.

                        LOL JK

But it was an awesome dream =(

Getting in the "Zone" is easy. It's just the result of practice. Like musicians are constantly in the zone. Think about a pianist... he/she's not thinking about the placement of each finger, it's muscle memory + feel.

wtf qreepy? that didn't make the least bit of sense. But yeah I agree with Jam on this one. If you're not able to feel the keys, the song sounds like crap :P It's actually harder to concentrate simply on hitting the keys if you ask me. If you feel it out then there's less chance of you screwing up, more chance that it'll sound 10000x better.
