Try not to make them too complex and please DO try to make them original. I'm not making "Squares 3" or another MOTAS type game.

First thing you should do is try to recreate a classic game but then make it better. Like, make a Galaga-type game and then make upgrades for the ship. Baby steps, baby steps.

You can do the basic obstacle racing game.

You have a road that is 4-6 lanes wide, and as you go along, you block a few roads with objects, and so the person has to always be on the open road.

Oh, I guess I should mention that I have been programming in Flash for over 2 years now thanks to school computers. I just now bought my own copy and was looking for some things to make.

As for 2D shooters, I love playing them and hate making them. I've already made two and hated the way they turned out.

Not very original in the sense that the games exist, however, no flash games have been made to simulate those two arcade/console games...
