damn, I can play only Rondo or some crap (not even doing well at all).. I suck.
Those are especially said to be hard I think.
CHOPIN - POLONAISE FANTAISIE Op.61
LISZT - ETUDES D'EXECUTION TRANSCENDANTE No.4 "MAZEPPA"
BEETHOVEN - Piano Sonata No.29 "Hammerklaviar" Op.106Comment

The song is called molto vivance, linus.
And rondo is pretty hard. I taught myself most of it though...so its not too bad. But you'd need several years of experience.
And yea, Polonaise is awesome.
And sm doesn't make you good at piano =/ If I play alot of sm I start playing the piano terribly. Especially if I have to play something up tempo, like Perpetium mobile by weber, which is like 13 pages at probably 180 bpm 16ths or so. I try not to use my hands at all really for a day or so before a concert if im playing something like that, then only practise it once before I go.

My old Cello Teacher (Bud Zenzen omg cool name) played an EIGHTY EIGHT page orchestra piece on the cello. It was holy shit fast.
Der Rosenkavalier.
Good stuff.
Signature subject to change.

Molto Vivace is one of the hardest, if not the hardest, piano pieces to play.
In the MP3 of it that I made in Fruityloops, I had to cut out a lot of the upper notes, because they were too high to render correctly.
In other words, there are even more notes in the real thing than there are in the MP3.Comment

Damn straight. Piano has nothing to do with SM. hell I've been playing piano for the last 10 years of my life, and I suck absolute ass at SM/FFR.I'm guessing it helps in being consistant in timing, as well as building up muscles and speed.
And whoever thinks molto isn't hard deserves to be shot in the face. I've seen the sheet music for it. It's fucking ridiculous.Ananana: Girls are so complicated. That\'s why I\'m not a lesbian.

Re: RE: Re: RE: Learning the piano.
I never realized how many musicians were actually on here...makes me feel more comfortable. But on to responding to the quote...Originally posted by CenrightGosh, piano is the one of the only instruments that I DON'T do. I do Trumpet, F Horn, Clarinet, Euphonium, Baritone, and Ocarina, but piano is still crazy to me.
I'm very curious how you are able to play all those instruments well. I'm guessing you can't(no offense) because it is extremely hard to excel at six different instruments. I used to play trumpet...but now I play horn, and I love it. I'm going to try out for All-South Jersey...and then really push for All State again this year.
But my question for you is, which one is your main focus?hiComment

What's to understand? It's a bunch of keys. You hit them. They make noise.Comment

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Learning the piano.
I really admire those who play the piano. I've always wanted to know how to play one, and I've tried to teach myself, but I doubt I'll go very far unless I get a formal instructor or completely put off all other activities in my life to play. My keyboard will just sit around for samples until I can get some MIDI cables.
I do play the violin, though! hoorj3yhooray bsd-tanComment

Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Learning the piano.
Okay.Originally posted by tnyhwk900How people can know where each one is. You have to have a good sense of the layout and a REALLY good understanding of all the major scales.
I'll give you a hint.
Middle C is usually under the first letter in the brand name on the piano.
You know, in the middle.
Scales are ABCDEFG.
Armed with this knowledge, you will surely become a master pianist in no time! Now go play that bitch like a PIANO!Comment
