Fun.

My friend is teaching me himself. After I came home from like, 3 hours of piano, and I fired up Stepmania and holy fuck even though my fingers pained from the piano, my MA was fuckin' unstoppable.

Now I know Nima and Reach's secrets. XD Well, I'm sure it doesn't matter much, but the piano is so much harder. Jesus, it requires to much concentration.

I had 8 years of piano after like the 3rd year i hated it with a passion, but for some reason without daily or weekly maybe monthly practice i learned like seriously hard shit yes it does make you better at sm too...

I play the piano. I took lessons till like last April or something, but I still remember some songs.

It doesn't do anything for SM. The two things are completely different. The hand motions required to play piano are totally different from the ones needed to play SM.

I've played piano for like 7 years. Stopped taking lessons cause it got boring.

Tried to teach myself Piano. Stuck with it for the better part of a year until I decided I really didn't care.

Of course the piano is harder. Not only is there over a hundred more keys than on a keyboard there are much more complicated rythems and patterns, chords, and you don't have notes scrolling in front of you. So you can play oh lets say Flight of the Bumblebee on SM? Well it's going to take a lot more than being able to do that to play it on the Piano.

Standard piano only has 88 keys. That's not a hundred more than what you use for StepMania.

I think it helps timing a lot, mainly because you have to stick to a strict timing created by yourself when playing the piano but in SM you play to a timing which is easier.

I'm guessing it helps in being consistant in timing, as well as building up muscles and speed.

Just look at Nima.. He already had built up muscle and speed in his ring finger to really excel in one handed play in a short amount of time.

Nima is really good at IIDX one handed and IIDX one handed can help you with piano

The thing that seems to help me the most pianowise is keyboardmania =D

I suck and can't really play anything though ;_; I just fuck around XD
