    Inuyasha has ENDED.

The final episode of Inuyasha has been aired in Japan. The hour-long special of episodes 166 & 167 are the absolute conclusion to the storyline.

Here's one anime that encompasses 35 gigs of my HDD space. I personally thought it was pretty good for an anime of its type. The plot is really transparent at times and it relates to DBZ at other times, but in the end it was one of the best animes I'd ever seen.

The series has ended, but there is a final fourth movie set to air later in the year or the beginning of next year. I would think this movie would take place long after the end of the series, but I could be wrong. The movies have been progressively getting better since the first one.

Another series set to end soon (speculation only on this one...but news sites say it's 52 episodes long) is Fullmetal Alchemist. Recently 48 was aired out of the total 52 episodes. This also has a movie coming out later.

One last thing is Naruto which finally aired its 100th episode a week ago. The movie came out a month ago and it is still top 10 in the world (though now it is at #10).

Thoughts? I know most people here have some huge anti-anime thing going on. Those that do, don't post in here. This is big news for me and most anime fans. It might be as big as when One Peice or Detective Conan end sometime in the future.

Man, reading that was extremely annoying. Can anyone put some hyphens into that post?

Anyway, I just hope this ending makes all the Inuyasha hype go away. I thought the show was terrible, and don't want to hear about it again. It just wasn't my thing, and all the fanboy popularity business going around makes it seem like the next crappy kiddie anime.

And yes, I am completely aware that I'm not giving it a chance. I saw two episodes on Cartoon Network and formed my opinions based on that. I'm not questioning its capability of being cool, I'm just stating that I don't care to ever find out.

The Inuyasha anime ending doesn't resolve anything. At all. It stops right in the middle of a major story arc.

The manga is still ongoing though, although it is showing signs of getting closer and closer to the end.

eh, It was alright.. I actually watched it last night on Cartoon Network. I won't be sad when it goes, because I wasn't really into it that much. I liked it enough to see it on cartton network, but not enough to go out and download the newer episodes..

As for Naruto, i'm glad that is ending... I read all the manga up to like 193, or something like that, and so i never watched the movies. Im getting tired of going to anime conventions and having everybody dress up as some leaf, sand, or sound village character.

I heard "Fullmetal Alchemist" was the "best" anime not to long ago, but never wanted to get it to find out. And the series is ending. I just don't know if it's 52 episodes like you stated, but that number does sound pretty close..

The only "anime" I ever saw was that movie Spirited Away...i'm not even sure if it classifies as anime, but I rented it and saw it once and went out right away to buy it. I haven't watched it in a long time but I reallllllllyyy liked it, so if any of you haven't seen it, go watch it. I dont watch anime, so I don't care. I just wanted you all to see Spirited Away.

                  Argh. Much to clear up.

87x - Inuyasha in JAPAN is over. I have no idea what episode Cartoon Network aired. I highly doubt they'd air a raw Japanese anime straight from Japan.

Kefit - Did you see the raw of episodes 166 & 167 to confirm this? Because it seems like it'd be at the point to finish it as it is now with the Japanese version.

Naruto is NOT ending. They're about to start a huge new chapter in the story at episode 102. The manga is now at 230 (I've read all that too) and still coming out once a week, just like the anime.

                  ~Squeek

PS - Just looked up Adult Swim's scheduling of it. They're only on episode 54. The episode title is funny (looking back) because it's called "The Ultimate Technique" when it only gets better later on. Tis teh lolsz.

Edited due to Guido's comment later in the thread.

Yeah, its confirmed that the Inuyasha anime doesn't resolve anything. The manga is now a bit ahead of where the anime just finished, and is still going.

I heard about that too. My friend came to school and said," Guess what's happening in JP today?" I said, "What?" He said, "They're airing the last two episodes of Inuyasha today." Of course I was shocked, but a little happy. I mean over 150 episodes!? I'm glad that its coming to an end. Now I dont have to wade through endless reruns durig the week only to get to the new episode on Saturdays. And Full Metal Alchemist the "best anime" ever? Pfftt. You seriously need to watch some more anime than that. Ever heard of Neon Genesis Evangelion? But what do I know. This is from a guy who thinks that the Love Hina manga is way better than the anime (which we all know it is better than the anime)

Heh, DragonBall, DragonBall Z, and DragonBall GT add up to over five hundred episodes, with DBZ having over 350 by itself.
I have Love Hina the anime on me, but have yet to watch it... And I'l be damned before I go out and buy an expensive manga series. And though EVA isn't anywhere near my favorite anime, I would put it as one of the best ones.

Squeek, I dunno if you saw my post before that other guy's post got deleted, but all he wrote was "NOOOOOO!!!!", except it extended for about four page widths, and I figured hyphens would make it wrap. Thanks to whatever mod deleted it.

Excellent choice of movies, Jurs; Spirited Away is one of Miyazaki's best. Everyone SHOULD see it.
