like i said before...it's a critical error on your system.

    Here's what is happening..

Windows is trying to do something, and it is getting commands to get the hardware to respond, and what's this, something is all fucked up, so windows is like "i.. i don't know what to do.. this shouldn't be here." and it goes into a self- protect mode and the computer basically shuts down. It is a variation of the old blue screen of death except it doesn't leave the kernel exposed like in 98, which decreases the chance of a major windows foul up.

You get a blue screen that comes up and say "check your hardware if this has happened more than once, otherwise restart your computer" and then begins the physical memory dump.

It has nothing to do with a virus, which is why an antivirus program won't pick it up.

I suggest you go back and recall what drivers you've updated, try rolling those back, or check any new hardware or software you've installed.

Its called System Restore. Its under accessories then system tools. Just tell it what date to restore your computer to, and your computer will be exactly the same as it was that date.

Now I cant even get into Windows. It just shuts off at the windows loading screen. I am probably going to reformat, thanks for all of your help.

NO. When your computer is starting up hit f8, then select last know good. Then when your in, use system restore.

Reformatting is the easiest thing to do, start new, finding drivers is easy just goto the hard drive makers website they always have a drivers section

Yeah, what's with you pussies against formatting, damn i do it at least 3 times a year, its good for your computer's health! :P

But honestly, I think anyone who's like "OMG LIEK I CANT FORMAT, ILL LIEK LOOSE ALL MY MP3s!" Is a complete n00b and needs to be thrown out of a window WITH their computer.

If you format three times a year, you're the one who doesn't know anything about computers.
