    Back and depressed as hell

I just got back today, only to find that my computer has a fucking virus.

If any of you could help I would appreciate it. I had just finished downloading like 9 gigs of music for an Mp3 player and now I cant even get to it, so I am only reformatting if it is the ONLY way to get rid of this.

When I turn on the computer, it stays on for like 2 minutes and then comes up with this distorted blue screen.

    rrrreeeeestttaaarrrttt yyyooouuurrr cccooommmpppuuuttteeerrr

then a bunch of oher things about replacing parts.

    then

"nnoooowwww dddeeellleeetttiiinnnggg ppphhhyyysssiiiccccaalll mmmeeemmmooorrryyy, dddddeeeellleeeettttiiiiooonnn coooommmmpppplllleeeetttteeee."

    it didnt delete anything..

I installed anti virus software, ran it, and around searching 12000 files it did that again.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Get rid of Norton. Now. It's the biggest piece of crap antivirus software ever. Use ANYTHING but Norton.

                      YEa, AVG is the best.

Seriously, my computer broke down all the time due to virus's before I got AVG. I had nortan before. Garbage...get AVG. Gets rid of every type of virus easily.

that's not a virus ..that's hardware confliction.. you get that because your components decide they don't want to work right.

Have you updated drivers, installed any new hardware at all recently?

Does your computer litterally say those things? o_O If yes, virus. If no, hardware conflict.

I would take your standard Windows CD and boot using that. Check what kinds of proccesses are starting up. Safe mode will do too. (as a rule, if it isnt a system proccess and isnt named TASKMGR.EXE, then kill it) Youre looking for anything that has an odd name, like SystemUpdater, DCom, LRESN, etc. The more important it sounds, the more likely it shouldnt be there. Check the Windows scheduler program and make sure nothing's using that to start. (control panel, scheduled tasks)

If those dont work, youre re-installing.

And if you're going to look at naughty websites from now on, use a good browser. ; )

and count the SVCHOST's If there is one on under your username, it is bad, and you need to cut it. The ones that are fine are under "system" or "network service" or "Local service"
