Why doesn't it make sense? You don't think there are people who hold fascist views who aren't public or obvious about it? People who think in secret to themselves that it would be great to enact some of those policies but don't say so?

Or did you just not know that the prefix "crypto" means "hidden" or "secret"?

Well I mean, like, the point at which you "Are a fascist" is when you support fascist ideology and are open about trying to implement it. So just before that is the point where you support fascist ideology but aren't open about it, it's a pretty commonly used prefix in political science.

I could describe literally anyone itt as "crypto fascist" because we all scored higher than 0%? Which means we support fascist policy to a degree "and aren't open about it"?

Well the test's putting people at middling percentages is also based of the test apparently having -no fucking clue- what actual fascism is, but like...no? That doesn't mean "everybody is a cryptofascist"

It means "The person who scored >60% clearly has, to them, a lot of fascist tendencies without scoring high enough to be presumed to be open about it."

The actual usage of the term requires admiration and support for fascism with a conscious unwillingness to be open about it for fear of persecution.
