Well, sometimes I'd buy because I can't play them online unless they're legit, and usually playing online is what adds all the replay value.

And here's a fun thing to think about: Illegal downloading now is as common and accepted as illegal drinking was back during prohibition.

Stealing from "Big Business" is acceptable in my book. Examples of this include: bootleg movies, bootleg games, and illegal mp3s. I'd never actually steal form a store or something though.

hamsterbeat, there is a distinct difference between stealing from a main store and stealing from tiny privately owned business. Syntaxcrash (you probably don't know) stole a bunch of stuff from a store in appalachia while we were working as part of a program to fix up houses down there (how ironic). For gods sake...they're worried about having enough one dollar bills, nevermind having items stolen from them.

There is also a difference for when you steal to survive or support your family and to steal, seeking attention. I bet nobody here has ever stolen something they actually needed.

Not really a big fan of stealing. I've stolen before, and it just makes me feel guilty. IMO it will all catch up to you at some point.

I am not a fan of stealing either...but that doesnt mean I didnt do it for awhile.

Super Wal-Mart opened up in my town not to long ago...you know, with the super market, McDonalds, and Wal-mart in the same building. Well, we started off being chill and whatnot, yoinking chicken fingers. Then one of my friends got a job there, and figured out a way to yoink all the stuff we want until out eyes bleed without much worry. Being the nerds that we are, we only took Magic Cards and Heroclix...for the most part.

But we stopped when one day one of us got caught. Nothing happened. But we won't go to Wal Mart anymore. Wal Mart sucks anyways.

Yeah, but it all comes back to you in the end...so true...found out the hard way....when my car was stolen. We found the car, but the stereo and whatnot in the car was gone...I guess in total 400-500 some dollars was stolen from me...which is about the amount that I stole from Wal-Mart.

The only waya stealing is stupid is if u get caught. Then your stupid. If u don't get caught, then its the damn bookstores fault that they don't have a tighter security system.

I stole a Gameboy game from a pawn shop once a few years ago. Pretty much the only thing I have ever stolen anything. I didn't really feel guilty about it, but I was absolutely terrefied of being caught, even after the act. To this day I won't go near that pawn shop.

Anyway, I have a few friends who steal all of the time from various chain stores. Mostly books and cards and the like, because those are really easy to steal. I don't really have a problem with them doing so. However, stealing from other people is something that disgusts me.
