So I applied to UBC, for General Science 2nd year transfer student... My GPA was 2.97 and I did not get accepted, my high school grades were also all 95-99% in every class, I am beyond astonished about this, and it really shut down my hopes and dreams of moving to Vancouver... Wow...
Didn't get accepted...

Re: Didn't get accepted...
I just re-checked my GPA and it seems to actually be 3.12... Makes me even more disappointed... How do you seriously not get into general sciences with a 3.12 GPA? Ughr bae adam bae max bae bridget bae claudia bae trevor bae adam2 bae mayo bae keith baeComment

Re: Didn't get accepted...
Really depends. Most people I know started at UBC-O and transferred to UBC-V in their second year for Sciences. I know people that went into Arts and then transferred to Sciences once they'd already gotten into the school. Other people just took easier classes to up their GPA until they got accepted. (Personally, I'm a fan of the last option.)
I'm sure it's the obvious answer, but talk with an Academic Adviser to see what the required GPA, admissions, etc. are, and what the best approach would be for you.

Re: Didn't get accepted...
Hah, dat tatt. I was told my UBC that my GPA was high enough when I applied cause I asked what the required GPA for sciences was and they said 2.70.
Funny story about SFU, I was accepted, but I didn't get an email or nothing, and when I went to check the other day, they had cancelled my fucking acceptance because I apparently took over 2 weeks to accept. Then I got a letter in the mail a few days saying I was in and I needed to pay my deposit... So pissed off about that. Ugh.
Also totally fucking kicking my ass for taking ENGG courses my first year and totally flunking them. I had a 2.4 GPA at the end of first year. I worked my ass off getting it back up to par (3.12) this semester and it's still not good enough -.-
I really don't want to go back to Calgary, but if all else fails I have signed up for 3 courses at U of C and hopefully those 3 will be enough to get me to a 3.5 or 3.6 GPA so I can get into Business school, if not then I feel that I am shit out of luck and I will just move to Vancouver anyways and start my real estate courses.Last edited by 25thhour; 06-27-2014, 04:22 PM.r bae adam bae max bae bridget bae claudia bae trevor bae adam2 bae mayo bae keith baeComment
