Most people just accept the nature of the cat and say" yeah, that's just how he/she is" whereas with a dog, the fault lies with the owner whether or not a dog has annoying traits.

I have no preference either way I'm not really an animal person but a well trained dog is awesome. So is a really chill cat. So to say one is more annoying than the other well, that would depend on either the nature of the cat, or the training of the dog.

Isn't training any animal essentially trying to trick it to do what you want through positive or negative reinforcement? They will never actually understand your request or actually want to do it.

hmph you're no fun ;p. I guess I have to agree though. Even though my preferences lean towards cats I have to say I've met a number of dogs that are quite amazing.

Sure, dogs just respond better than cats do and to the same thing time and time again. Cats require more creativity and you typically won't get the same results. No one sees a chill cat and goes "wow, she's so well trained!" Usually the cat is just chill or responsive in whichever way by nature

“We did one study on cats—and that was enough!” Those words effectively ended my quest to understand the feline mind. I was a few months into writing...

you can't say you didn't see that coming. The typical argument against cats is "my dog can do tricks, so it's automatically better than your smelly cat"

a lot of dogs can't really be trained tho. this thread is like... idk, comparing snails to whales or something. they are both unique and separate species, you don't necessarily have to choose one over the other

it may be for shits and giggles but its tired

                        Re: Cats vs dogs

i like all pets equally, although i find most breeds of cats cuter than most breeds of dogs with exceptions on both sides (huskies, corgis, shibas and dachshunds <3) which heavily influences my choice don't judge me

gonna restrain myself and not post pictures of my cats but i have the most playful and affectionate maine coon (not purebred i'm assuming since he was found sick in the dirt as a kitten about 3 years ago) and he is the best. his respiratory system is messed up so his meows sound like "keehh.."

i also have a calico colored god-knows-what-breed that follows me around like a dog and has major separation anxiety, whether it be scratching the bathroom door when i'm in there or howling when i leave the house
