Kickstarter takes 5%($42k), Amazon takes 2%($16.8k), Making CDs/T-shirts/Vinyls should be 1%-2% or less, its the shipping that will probably be murder. Even then, you have 1743 people in tiers that have to pay $10 to get it shipped outside the US and 379 in the $15 tier. If every single person in those tiers needed international shipping, its still only $23,115/$840,479 and that is what they asked for, not how much it would likely cost. Shipping in bulk isn't too expensive, like $3-4/lb US-EU. A CD case/Shirt/Vinyl aren't that heavy.
Its just one of those things you have to account for when starting a kickstarter campaign, they might have only needed $500k but knew the expenses would require X more.
