I'm currently impartial between flying and driving. If I bring a car along, I could make airport runs before and after AN. What do you all think?

So I checked the front page of the Anime North website:

Registration will open January 02, 2013!

Pre-Registration for Anime North 2013 will open online at 12:01AM, Jan 2, 2013. Information on registering through the regular mail will also be posted on the Anime North website at that time.

Once agan, Anime North will be imposing an attendance cap on the convention, to deal with overcrowding issues.

A total of 15,000 Weekend/Group admissions and 5,000 of each of the single-day only admissions will be sold for 2013.

Keep that date in mind if you plan on going.

oh and for those of you that are going to have to cross the border

customs for Canada (when you're leaving the U.S.) is quick and easy however customs for the U.S. (when you're leaving Canada) will take longer rofl

Canadian border: "where you going? oh okay cool have a safe trip"
American border: "WHERE YOU GOING? WHO ARE YOU WITH? WHY ARE YOU GOING? DO YOU HAVE DRUGS? POP OPEN THE TRUNK. etc."


and for the record, if you purchase AN passes as a group (must have a minimum of 10 people to qualify), you can save up to $20 per person rather than pay full price at entrance or individually. this is what kommi, friends, and I do every year

What state do you live in? The only think I dislike about crossing the border in a vehicle is the usually massive wait times.

my parents live in southwest Michigan. wait times wouldn't be too big of a deal for me personally

If you do decide to go by car and go through Michigan make sure you go through Port Huron instead of Detroit/Windsor.

This will be my first AN, and I'm staying in Canada for the summer to hang with my best friend and smoke prime Canada dank every day.

Still deciding on a cosplay myself.
