When my dad passed away in May of 2010 from brain cancer, it was sort of unsettling to see him listed as a suggested friend on Facebook after the fact, and to this day we still get the occasional call or mailing meant for him. You'd think insurance companies and alumni organizations would stay on top of this stuff.
That being said, I support QQ's assertion--social media is going to become a new way to remember a deceased loved one at the rate it's going. Soon we're going to be rolling a big screen TV into the chapel and playing a montage of selected youtube videos at someone's funeral. The future is going to be wild, woolly, and wonderful.
