Actually, I agree with this rant. People shouldn't be so judgemental of what people step. Who gives a shit anyway?

I just want to make note that banned users are still permitted to submit files. (not my rule)

Seriously though if your perma banned you shouldn't even be allowed to do ANYTHING for the site in which they are banned from. If admins and mods want to enforce rules, then rules need to be kept up. Including ban evading and perma bans in general. Period.

Not that I want to get off topic yet again, but a ban from the forums does not ban them from submitting, playing the game, etc. When Kommi was banned he was still permitted to judge during that time as well.

Being PermaBanned does not hinder your ability to judge a file, nor create one. Do you suddenly lose all your stepping skill when you're banned?

It's the forums they're banned from, not from entertaining themselves and others.

I guess I'm the only one seeing the point that if you do something bad enough to get yourself perma banned from this site, you should also lose the privilege of being able to do anything on this site. It's simple really.

IF SOMEONE does something horrible to get themself PERMA BANNED, I would only conclude that yes they can't do anything to to help the site because they obviously did something that DIDN'T benefit the site in order to get perma banned.

Why should they get any privileges? But, I suppose it's beating a dead horse with a stick here.

Okay I'll be rational with you (lucky you, I should just talk down upon you like you deserve but whatever)

You would like to stop people to contribute to this game, who care about this game and make charts so that the playerbase can potentially enjoy them just because they made some bad decisions before ON THE FORUMS that have nothing to do with their stepping ability or hinder it in any way.

You can downgrade me, talk down to me all you want, because it has absolutely no value here in this debate. Which is exactly what it is, a DEBATE. But, I can see this site doesn't necessarily like debates anymore with all the trolling.

Now:

If someone deliberately breaks the rules here on the site in a manner that gets them permanently banned from the forums or anything, yes they should lose the power to have any privileges period.

Do me a favor and consider the ways of getting perma banned. Look at how people HAVE been perma banned. Posting Porn in the open. Constant ban evading, etc. etc. etc.

Either of these 2 reasons are proof enough that they don't give a shit about the community or anyone, but themself because they didn't follow a short and simple set of rules.

WHY should they get praise for any of their skill when they obviously feel they can do whatever the want and still will be "needed" here?

So you're saying that someone can go around and do ANYTHING they want and get banned, but regardless of the severity of the crime, they still get privileges? seriously?

I understand where you're coming from but think about the situation first.

If one day, someone whom is a huge benefit for the site and contributes to it greatly, had done something that constitutes a permanent ban. Does that person truly deserve no activity on the site at all? No second chances? You're just implying that any member doesn't get any sort of leeway.

I'd like to hear more of what you have to say about this, because you've got my attention.

Clearly you do not know the circumstances which Anaru got banned in the first place.

PS: Why does he keep coming back? Because he cares about the community and wants to better it, even if you don't agree with his opinions or don't like his files or him as person, doesn't devalue that fact.

Also what you are arguing is this:
If a person committed a bad crime for whatever reason you'd rather death sentence them then try to rehabilitate them to be a successful, beneficial member of society.
But hey, you are entitled to your opinion, obviously. Doesn't mean that it's logical, pragmatic or beneficial to the community.

Okay, I'm glad you mentioned a "second chance."

I am all for giving people second chances. I do believe that the human race has rather insatiable ability for change. People may do something completely stupid and regret it later ( God only knows that most of us have done something somewhere before we regret doing )

So, yes give people second chances. That's it though, you can't KEEP giving them chance after chance after chance.

Example:

If you get perma banned for posting porn. Instant perma ban. I understand that people do stupid shit. Give them a few months and look they come back and provide even more for the site then what they did before they posted it. That's a prime example of someone having a change of heart and proving they belong here.

2nd Example:

Doing the same thing, and constantly ban evading. Getting blacklisted and constantly ban evading. In this scenario that person has been given chance after chance after chance. WHY do they STILL get privileges? They were given enough chances.

I hope I wrote that the right way.

But, basically yes if you do something once and get "perma banned" yes I would imagine OVER TIME you would digress and come back after proving yourself worthy. BUT, if you constantly break the rules WHILE banned or even AFTER you get unbanned, I don't care who you are, you shouldn't have ANY privileges PERIOD.
