    Re: Dear AMA thread creators,

Although I'm not posting in a ton of these threads, I'm reading most of them since I'm genuinely interested in them. The front page has a lot of these on it, sure, but the active relevant threads that people usually go to are there as well (brag board and gen talk threads mainly). This would be no different from someone going and playing in a bunch of game threads, making them float to the top of the recent threads on the front page.

For me, on a usual day I see 2-3 threads that might be worth clicking on in the recent threads list. Today it's a bunch of new content (AMAs) that I'm actually interested in, so the argument that worthy threads are getting bumped off the list is mega subjective since threads that you might deem important and worthy of staying at the top might differ from what I think is entertaining and worthy of staying at the top.

Overall, it's a fad that will last 3 days tops, so quit getting your jimmies rustled and deal with it for a bit.

I'm sorry, were my posts leading to believe I was saying Wilson was wrong? If so, terribly sorry I'm just defending stupid fads on FFR, merely because I'm apart of it now.

        Re: Dear AMA thread creators,

We should probably make an AMA thread of everyone by now.
FFR has always been like a prepubescent teenager that adopt every "coolest" trends anyway.

And no. You cannot be part of my clique. Go away.
        *sheesh*
        Freak.

I believe we could make a game thread with this, where the next has to answer the question included in the previous post. More personal questions that has to be headed directly to one person should really be asked in profiles. It could maybe lower all that fussin'.

You're neglecting how messy and difficult for the people answering questions that would be which is probably why it's kind of a bad idea

I made the first one because I was encouraged to, and I honestly wanted to give people that opportunity in the open to ask whatever they wanted, I didn't expect like 7 others to actually take up the idea themselves.

I kept it out of the gbin because certain people can't post in there because people there are uptight about "bad posting" (which is self defeating and actually stupid)

My suggestion is possibly make it's own sub forum and like the gbin threads keep it off the front page ticker, or extend how many threads that ticker displays, though doing both isn't a bad idea either this keeps the clean flow of the thread's content while also eliminating the big complaint that they're taking up space in the front page ticker

          just a thought

            Re: Dear AMA thread creators,

The threads are fine. Interesting even.

Everybody needs to take a deep breath and chill. Negative activity is bad, Positive activity is good. Neutral activiy is much better than no activity, and there's probably been more posting in these threads in a day than on the site in an average week.

However, they -are- cluttering up the frontpage feed -and- filling up the chitchat page.

So what I'm going to do is finish getting home (yay internet on the train) and then I'm going to set up a sub-forum under 'Birthdays' inside chit-chat, for AMAs, and then we can encourage people to do more of them because they are neat and people seem to like them.

Everyone gets what they want this way.

I'm alright with AMA subforums as long as they don't clutter things. I would like to clear something up, though:

I think you might have been mistaking what I was trying to say (and if not, that's fine too). People wouldn't be posting questions and answers in a thread; people would make a random thought and would post in the thread to say they were open for questions to be asked. Then, those who want to ask questions would go to any one of the users linked on the first post to ask whatever questions they want.

I guess the only downside to this would be that there would be no notifications as to when someone answered a question.
