Wow! I was having a friendly chat with my guild mate and suddenly maple crashes and is now offline. It better not be some kind of unscheduled maintenance. I need my fix of killings and stuff

Apparently, there was a Mesos exploit going on. I don't know all the details, but from what I've read off of the Nexon forums, it appears that it's related to the Mesos Guard skill which was apparently being abused in order to gain massive amounts of Mesos by repeatedly dying after taking over 10 million damage in the Free Market with the skill active. People who were abusing the exploit were apparently gaining 16mil per death and buying out all the items in the marketplace.

Basically speaking, people exploited and now the server's down so that the exploit can be fixed. Rollbacks are expected.

EDIT: @Banditcom: Well, ultimately I didn't want the characters anymore. If anything else I could have continued but my cleric build was messed up for the most part. That, and I've pretty much already started a new pure INT cleric build on Galicia on a different account. So, ultimately I just chose to drop the items and delete the characters. I did draw a bit of interest, though, and I am surprised that Xqsite is still operating. Though, I'm a Galicia/El Nido kind of guy now. :P

On another note, I decided to try out Cygnus Knights. Not too shabby, in all honesty, but it's basically the same five classes in a different storyline with different skills and a stunted max level. I don't know if I'm going to keep leveling it. I'm probably going to try out a Wild Hunter next.

Wow that's ridiculous. I know they call em thieves and all but that's just going a bit too far.

edit: is there a general idea as to when this exploit was found out about?

I saw someone get around 16 billion damage done to him and was like ".....the ****?".

I guess that's what it was.

EDIT: Apparently the last time a rollback occurred, everyone got 15k NX. I'm hoping for a rollback because I barely played today.

Well, 15k would be a welcome addition to my virtual wallet, but if there was a rollback, id probably lose my lvl and possibly my rare skillbooks that i found for my battle mage =(

If there's a rollback... I probably imagine that my dawn warrior will be non-existent and my pirate will be non-existent also. I'm going to laugh my ass off if my old characters re-appear with all their equipment and 15k NX in the virtual wallet on said account. If that happens I'm going to seriously laugh my ass off. I mean, seriously; talk about ironic.

Also, this is a bit off-topic but I've been debating on making a BannedStory topic as of late(BannedStory is a MapleStory simulator which is capable of simulating MapleStory characters, equipments, monsters, skills, and more). However, I doubt if its even worth a thread, or if it'll hold any interest at all.

My guess is an hour or two. It all depends on when the exploit started occurring. I saw somebody doing it OUTSIDE of FM around 20 minutes before the server crashed.

My guild mate is probably going to rage for the rollback since we pretty much did a pirate PQ for nothing. Oh well though. Looks like ill just magically have my useless etc items to start dropping again. If it is only until earlier today, then no worries for me, since i only started playing like 20 minutes before the crash.

edit: Oh btw, since we're all here, what's everyone's usual playing times? or is it just a whenever you get some time type of deal?

rollbacks usually go 1 day or two (sadly)

however you usually get 2k NX via maple points.

so it is bad if you powerleveled but good if you didnt do crap that day.

I play sporadically throughout the day and don't stay up later than 1AM EST. I just got a dog and he needs to be taken out at 6AM every morning.

Also if they rollback the entire day my new character will go up in smoke. Too bad.

GMS's meso exploit isnt really anything against EMS's current situation.. They have something called the PMD event, meaning that for 400nx you can buy a ticket to enter a premium mini dungeon where you gain 1.5x exp and LOADS of drops during 30min.
I'll post the drops and the now current prices for most items

This is the noteable stuff that drops in these:
Chaos scroll 60% (i found 15 of these in one hour)
Clean slate scroll 20%
Miracle scrolls (i.e 100% scrolls that gives the stats of a 10%)
Chairs Chairs Chairs, i filled my inventory within 5 minutes with chairs..
Reverse equips (yes they drop like hell)
4th job skills (maple warrior 20/30 drops ALOT)

Now for prices.. Prepare to be dazzled.
Chaos scroll 60% 1B
Clean slate scroll 20% 2B (i have seen them actually sold for 2b)
Miracle scrolls 1.5B each
All chairs are dropped to 2m each, used to be around 150m.
All scrolled equips are 2.1B even if they are +9 30%'s or +1 60%
Maple warrior 30 used to be 1.3-2b and they are now 20m

yeah ems is pretty destroyed right now, gms wont do a rollback either because of the levels everyone gained in pmd.

As for GMS, guys just add me on BL and i'll have it a bit easier to invite you to the guild,
Char names are:
SMIsaac, Mechulation, PageIV.

Although i have tons of school stuff so try to add xXBigezayXx which is the other jr.leader, im not sure wether we have anyone else. However i plan making 2-3 more jr.leaders, after that i'll try to think of some rank system in the guild. I'm also going through possible guild events in the future, however i need some more mesos before doing that..

Woohoo no rollback for Demethos. The bad thing though is that I work through the first 2x event. Oh well, just counting down the minutes til i can log back in. til then, back to my kingdom hearts recoded 1hp challenge.

Well, unfortunately being in Bera the rollback didn't effect me. Still, if the rollback had been for all of the servers, it would've still been interesting to see if my characters were resurrected afterward. Oh well. Also sucks that compensation is only for Khanians as well. Would've liked to spend 10,000 NX on... something, anyway. At least I can enjoy a 2x EXP event come Friday.

I'm thinking of getting back into this game. I used to always be a thief, but I want to try something new, any suggestions? Not cleric though. And what world should I play on?
