I tried playing GMS again... it's really hard to pick back up now, what with all the events and coin hunting

I know that feel, the 10 or so events I keep getting bombarded with is confusing me like crazy, although I admit I do like the Mesoranger event with that rhythm game thing. I'm pretty good at it, too; guess all those years of playing rhythm games paid off.

In the end though, it's hard to turn down free stuff. But it is annoying. :/

yeah they've started giving out free pets and pet equips which is really cool and useful better than scrolls all day, hahaha

Every time I log on to the game (official GMS servers) I get more and more depressed about how different and easier the game has become. It's like a joke of what it used to be, and that wasn't really much more than a joke to begin with. Luckily I don't have it installed on my computer anymore.

I miss running a guild... Nostalgia.

The more I play this the more lonely I get and I personally have a hard time connecting with anyone for multiple reasons. I'm also kind of suffering from restartitis, mainly as I've been wanting to both try out new classes and stay on Renegades for the sake of consistency.

I'm also wondering if maybe I should go and join a more populated server, like Scania or Bera. I know I used to be on Broa a lot as well, although I remember back in the day being a bit of a separation between the FFR MapleStory community since we were either on Scania, Bera, Broa, or one of the then newer servers like Windia.

i was ok at this game i think, ran a semi-large guild in Windia where we were "kind of" notorious for stealing LHC maps from hackers, it was fun

I'm playing EMS on-off, got a 155 Marksman which had 160k range self-buffed before I got hacked and lost everything on that character, then I went off to make a Fire/Poison mage, it's 153 and I'm maining it from here on out. I have every link skill and things, but that's useless when I rarely play and my internet is so bad that 93% of the UK has faster speeds than me.

been playing GMS v62 and these are absolutely amazing
can easily kill the hardest mob in the game at level 80

once you go all the way up I/L you really feel the difference in grinding time

I remember playing on MS private servers a good bit back in the day; don't know if I could do it now, especially since most private servers tend to be poorly run or, as you said, pulls some pay2win bullshit that just instantly makes you not want to play on said server. Don't know if I could play a private server anymore though; can be fun, but most tend to be poorly run in one way or another. That and I've been enjoying official MS servers decently enough; Kanna's a pretty fun character and I made him on Broa for old time's sake. (For all intended purposes Kanna's a female but I had the option to make a male Kanna so I did.)

EDIT: I would probably have a personal private server to play MapleStory solo for shits and giggles if I had the technical know-how, but that mostly extends to me personally playing MMOs offline if I could.

^ What version did they finally go out on? iirc when Arcane went down that source got out pretty quick, and I actually ran a server based off of it called VoidMS for a while. It wasn't big at all and really was only for like 10-20 people at a time but it was pretty fun to run. I've still got the server on one of my hard drives somewhere and I still have the database hosted at my webhost o.o

Arcanes source never got out, Cryptics did cause "Arcane" The dev aka RMZero sold a few copies, it was nothing like Arcane. The Arcane source I currently have is the one we sent to nexon which was V111 or 112, I also have 117 eden but I think arcane was a better legacy. I also re-did some stuff in another copy on another recent server I tried to manage, dev was a lazy dick.

I also Interned on AuraSea (umaple) prior to its close as its mentioned in the second image, been dodging million dollar bullets for years

I'm very aware of how arcane ended and thats why I revived my old private server to have something to fill my time. The source I ran my latest server on says it was v111. *shrug*

I thought it was arcane source but maybe I'm wrong. Pretty sure that shit got leaked bro.

yeah ubuntu or syre probably have by now... some dumb devs like skorch around right now that make me uninterested in the entire scene at the moment, but I might pick it back up some day
