Your choice depends on what kind of games you like to play. If you are more into arcade like games, the Wii is the best choice. If you like shooting/online playing type games, go for the 360. I just honestly dont like the PS3. Its is an oversize'd PSP and I just dont like the system at all. But make the choice on your best interest in the games over the system.

I'd say 360, because it's the best deal for what you get and what you can play on it (H3, CoD4, etc.).

Otherwise, I'd go with wii, cuz it's got zelda, MK-wii, brawl, etc.

Link would respond to your sword swings if you moved your controller like the guy in No More Heroes would swing his light saber in the game. The only difference is that there are these finishers where you have to move the controller in this and that difference.

But both games did very well for a "sword fighting" game and really used the motion controls effectively. When I imagine myself sword fighting, I do want to move my arms around, which is why I believe the controls worked so well with these games. I've never played Super Mario Galaxy, so I can't critique the controls, but Super Mario Galaxy would be one of the games I would find difficult to implement motion controls considering deep down in my heart, it will always remain a sidescroller game to me.

Also, the thing is. If you buy a Wii, then you're investing in the fact that some companies will be innovative. The big thing about the Wii is its motion controls. A lot of companies are already creating games that have worked well before, and those are FPSs on your typical controller. There won't be as many Wii games with innovative controls than an FPS with a typical controllers because companies tend to only approve games they know will do well, and that would be your typical FPS. However, every now and then, you can expect a game that uses the motion controls extremely well and you will just say "wow" at these games. It's just like the DS and the touchscreen. The large attraction for the DS is its touch screen and there are only a handful of games that uses the stylus extremely well, but they are all extremely good.

Your decision should be based on your situation, not what we tell you. You know the type of games you enjoy and because this is your money you are spending, buy something that you know you will like. It's only when you have the money should you try new things. I myself don't like FPSs very much, so I didn't buy a 360 or PS3, but if I did have the money, I would like to try new games on a different console, but I don't. I also have a couple of good friends who do have a 360 and one of them is getting a PS3 soon so I could always go over to their house if I have a game I really want to play or trade consoles because only a handful of them have a Wii.

Only problem with the 360 though is it's high failure rate. They have extended warranties on them for the RRoD but it's annoying having to send it in. More than half of Xboxs I know have failed but all have been fixed for free.

True, I once got the RRoD. It was shipped out, fixed, and shipped back in under a month.

360 has the most games, some amazing games, and BY FAR THE BEST ONLINE EXPERIENCE.

If you're planning on playing online, get a 360. PSN and Wii's online is nothing compared to Xbox Live. Live does cost money, but it's not too expensive (about the price of a game a year). With that $60 you can play online on pretty much any game, download from the XBL Arcade, the video store, and a whole lot more.

If you'd like to transfer files from your computer to your console and vice versa, a 360 is the way to go.

I don't have any other consoles, but the 360 is amazing, and it's getting a Free Console Update sometime this fall, which will be like having an entirely new console! Free!!

Braid is also a pretty amazing game. Make sure you get that if you get a 360.

Pros for a 360: Good games and Braid
Cons for a 360: RED RING OF DEATH!!!!!!

Pros for a PS3: really great games and the graphics are awesome if you want Hi-Def benefits
Cons for a PS3: Not many games as the 360 v___v

Pros for a Wii: Creative controls that make you feel that you're in the game.
Cons for a Wii: Some games you just want to say "WTF?!?!?!" literally for its controls.

Now, If you want to pick one of them, I really can't tell you. It's all up to you.

I've never played Portal, but I don't believe it's anything like it.

The entire point of the game is that you can rewind time and although in the first level, you only really use it to undo your mistakes, they get really creative with it. It's a puzzle game at its core and it's a very good one.

But there's you know, a different way to solve puzzles. If you put it like that, Zelda is like Portal, except without portals, you got many different weapons.

Well Portal and Braid are both platformer games (even though Portal doubles as a FPS) with a goal of completing levels by using intuitiveness and resourcefulness with a certain weapon function or action.
Zelda games are as much puzzlesolvers are these.

Point is, it sounds fun. I look forward to getting it.

wide variety of games+HALO= 360. final fantasy= ps3. smash+madden+mario kart+wii sports= WII. I like the wii, but the 360's cool too.
