Re: Starcraft 2
But the original diablo? Surely people don't play that piece of crap of a game (not that I didn't like it 10 years ago, I even had such a crappy computer that I could watch the screen refresh as I played it, it would take maybe .2 seconds for the screen to refresh. I didn't care though, it was still great...10 years ago)

Re: Starcraft 2
i hate people who only got interested in warcraft at wc3 and frozen throne. I've owned and played avidly every RTS blizzard game except the diablos. I played wc2 cuz it was a good game and i got wc3 cuz it was the sequel. sc2 is gonna kickass cuz it will be like starcraft but 3d, making it like wc3 but starcraft. It's the early bird that gets the worm, but it's the second mouse that gets the cheese.

Re: Starcraft 2
Too bad there are millions and millions of koreans alone that disagree 8)
Warcraft was never as popular as starcraft anyway. Blizzard milked starcraft as long as they could still make money off it, so it's no wonder they've held out so long. They also knew sc2 would cause the death of warcraft 3. Even almost 10 years later sc is still more popular than warcraft 3 XD
But since starcraft fans have been left stranded for so long, like a dying man in a desert without water, the thirst is like never before and the game is probably going to blow the rts world apart 8) Predicting a complete barren wasteland for quite awhile on wc3 after sc2 is released.Last edited by Reach; 06-28-2007, 07:27 PM.

Re: Starcraft 2
I'm still convinced that WoW was just a way to fund all future Starcraft projects. So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(
In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.
So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
And I write the blog for their website.
Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =OComment

Re: Starcraft 2
I'll still play frozen throne, it's good graphics anyways, so you can still play them. the reason people stopped playing sc as much when wc3 came out, was because the graphics were so much better. sc2's graphics will be only a little better then wc3's, so wc3 will be like the medieval alternative to sc2It's the early bird that gets the worm, but it's the second mouse that gets the cheese.

Good thing graphics mean everything.I'll still play frozen throne, it's good graphics anyways, so you can still play them. the reason people stopped playing sc as much when wc3 came out, was because the graphics were so much better. sc2's graphics will be only a little better then wc3's, so wc3 will be like the medieval alternative to sc2
Only thing WC3 has over SC, if you ask me, is the UMS capabilities. Obviously the SC2 map editor will be even better, and that's a huge part of what I'm excited about, cuz the SC units are more varied and thus better for representing things in UMS maps. =P
But seriously, I swear, if they make Starcraft2 Herocraft lloollo let's kill creeps like they did with WC3, I'm not buying it. That and upkeep. I don't want to pay taxes in a game. That's just wrong. =(So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(

Re: Starcraft 2
I can't wait! But I'm gonna. =d
I just hope Starcraft 2 doesn't turn out too much like Warcraft III. Of course, I'm only basing this on the graphics for now. o.o;;
Anyways, who thinks Protoss is overpowered so far? *raises hand*oComment

Re: Starcraft 2
How ignorant.
You've seen a crapload of Protoss and practically nothing of Zerg and Terran, so how can you even compare them?
Zerg is a swarming race, so obviously there's going to be something to amplify that characteristic. Zerg units may not be as strong as Protoss, but they shouldn't be. They kill with numbers.
Terran is just ... well, imagine us. We'll probably get tons more science vessel-like capabilities.
It'll be balanced ... don't worry. And nothing you see in that demo video is concrete except probably what is put on the official website. Starcraft is way too popular for the developers to **** it all up in the sequel.Comment

It's still hard to imagine how anything Zerg and Terran have will be enough to match the power of a Mothership. Yes, yes, it was modified in the gameplay video, but still. o.O
I'm confident that the developers will find a way to balance the game though. That's what Starcraft is known for, after all.
I highly doubt they're going to remove any of the units they've announced, however: it's not like Blizzard to do that. Maybe one or two, maximum.
I wanna go to Blizzcon and play it. >.<oComment
