The issue here is between the people that think in public terms (Source players), and those who think in competative terms (1.6 players).
I will agree that Source is more casual-gamer friendly, and I would probably rather play it over 1.6 if I just wanted to mess around every once and a while.
From a competative standpoint though, Source is a very new game in need of a lot of modifications, as 1.6 has in its many years of existence. This is understandable though - Source has only been out for a couple of months.
Source has a lot of potential, and I trust Valve will only make the game better as time goes on. It's inevitable that competition will shift completely over to Source, and I may even start competing in the future. For now, 1.6 is still a much better game for competition, and many of you just don't and never will understand that unless you do it, and we all know you won't.
I actually laughed out loud at that one because I've deticated more time than you know perfecting my skills and strategies as you would not be able to comprehend being Joe Pubber. If this were true, there would be no such thing as a good team because everything would be so inconsistent there would be no such thing as competition. The opposite is true. There have been many teams in the past that have practically been dynasties, as many of us have seen from teams such as 3D, SK, and zEx. Countless games and tournaments prove your logic completely wrong.Originally posted by MrESqueekThe game requires close to no skill and I cannot believe people consider it something tournament-worthy.
Not to mention you've played for 3 months.
You are correct. That has nothing to do with its quality though. You may feel like you're on the right side since you're moving on with Valve, but they're more interested in money, not gameplay.Originally posted by MrESqueekCompanies release new versions of games for a reason. It's because normal people are tired of the same old thing over and over again and want to move on...
Since you can't see why we like this game, the only sort of conclusion you can come up with is illogical. Every single on of my clanmattes (a TON) have been involved in multiple FPSs. I myself love UT2K4. The point is you will not meet one person that just plays 1.6, and that's what your conclusion suggests. We're comparing two games here people, not all of them.Originally posted by MrESqueekThe CS community decides that all other games suck and that CS is life.
There really is no way for me to prove to you that CS is a good game unless you go out and compete. You won't, and that's fine. But you have never competed, so you can't completely judge the game's value, because you have yet to experience it.

Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: CS: S or CS1.6
I play source everytime I go to Ignite or fallens house AND I STILL prefer 1.6 over source. Source is bullshit, I was watching Ignite the other day and he shot with a scout and the shot went like way off form where he shot and he was staning still and he hit the guy in the head, and furthurmore this summer while I was playing over at fallens house I was around with an M4 and 93% of my kills were headshots. When I get a coumputer im going to play source I will be able to totally pwn anyone on source that is legit. Wanna know why because i play 1.6 hardcore and 1.6 is way harder than source. It's not a desk job where I sit there plugging in numbers all day. It's more of a social-interaction job where every customer is different.Originally posted by QreepyBORISDo you have a job?Originally posted by MrESqueekWhy would I join a "clan" or a "league" of fellow people who spend their time doing the same thing over and over and over again day in and day out for no gain?
If you must know, I pick out matting and frames for prints and such. It's hard work for someone without artistic talent like me.

PS - Anything in a white mat and/or a black frame is not framed. It's just....ugly.Comment
