Re: Proposal
I concur, but I think DBP will be pretty mad because he's pretty excited over his jTWG game.Last edited by ddrdanc3r55; 06-18-2006, 10:15 PM.Comment

Re: Proposal
We'll just let him host this game then.I watched clouds awobbly from the floor o' that kayak. Souls cross ages like clouds cross skies, an' tho' a cloud's shape nor hue nor size don't stay the same, it's still a cloud an' so is a soul. Who can say where the cloud's blowed from or who the soul'll be 'morrow? Only Sonmi the east an' the west an' the compass an' the atlas, yay, only the atlas o' clouds.Comment

Re: Proposal
I'd be happy with that, but we'd need a new format for the game.
If this is going to happen, I'm going to take the 8 people signed up for jtwg, close the signups, and have them be the first 8 fo the game, sound good?
Edit: Lol, and just as I was thinking about asking if I could host jTWG and play in TWG. Owned.Last edited by DiscoBobbyPARANOiA; 06-18-2006, 11:01 PM.Comment

Re: Proposal
Chardish, are you looking to correct a lack of participants or a lack of enthusiasm, because joining jTWG and TWG will alter the former and not the latter I fear. There are enough people willing to view the signup thread, hit reply, and type: "I'm in." That isn't under question. If you're looking to create a game full of more enthusiastic and interested people, I feel that joining the two is hardly the way. The same people who are "interested" in playing in a jTWG/TWG will still sign up for the, now, doubly crowded game, and in the event that they sign up before someone who will play well, the game would still be populated with uninterested players. I don't feel I exactly have a solution as I've yet to earn much tenure at FFR, but if I recall correctly, a minimum post/activity requirement has been brought up more than once. Giving a game or two ban at the host's digression for inadequate activity would better solve the problem of uninterested players joining games, as they'd be banned or in fear of being banned, and only the truly interested would, hopefully, join to begin with. Joining the two also raises the issue of more experienced players playing with less experienced and thusly lowering the overall fun that is to be had by two separate divisions. I hope this has been somewhat helpful and will do my best to always be one of the "interested" players, as I feel I have been thus far. Take care.Like the moon over

Re: Proposal
My rationale for proposing this:
1) Everyone sucked when they were beginners. Dedicated people stick around and get better.
2) There are dedicated jTWG players who could probably be really good TWG players with a few games of experience under their belt.
3) When you have high demand to get into a game and fewer slots open, the people who get in are the dedicated ones, not people who stumble across the thread. Having 1 game running at once instead of 2 doubles the demand to get in a game. All of the slots will probably fill immediately.
4) Figuring out the playstyle of new people gives the wolves a little bit more of an edge, which they've needed lately.
5) I doubt TWG could survive on its own at the current level of activity.
6) The current slump in competitiveness is the perfect time to get new players into the main game.Comment
