I am posting this in FFR General because this is a very important announcement concerning FFR. As some of you may know, there is a simfile submission section coming to the site much like bemanistyle's. Basically, this is a great way to get your simfiles known and a way to get them hosted if you don't have the service.
However, with all places there have to be rules, and Synth has given me permission to post these rules.
Myself, Mwerp, SKoR, Kilgamayan, and maybe a few other people will be your sim mods, and these are the rules we will go by. Do NOT expect us to let you do whatever you want and totally ignore the rules like the forum mods because we will follow these rules to a T. I MAY add on to these as time progresses depending if I've forgotten anything, but I won't remove any rules, so don't get your hopes up. Oh, and if you think you're hot shit by whining about these rules saying how I should change them or not have them, too bad, your opinion will not change basic simfile standards.
:: SECTION 1, THE MOST IMPORTANT RULES, MUST READ SINCE THIS ALSO INVOLVES YOUR ACCOUNT ::
#1 The simfile section is not "post your request for a simfile", it's post YOUR simfile, one that YOU made. If you can't grasp this and still upload simfiles, you may well be banned very fast. In short, DO NOT UPLOAD A SONG THAT YOU WANT PEOPLE TO STEP, AT ALL, EVER. ONLY UPLOAD SIMFILE STUFF.
#2. If you put a porn link in your simfile or simfile page, or put an image with offensive/derogatory/explicit content in it, it will be deleted and you could possibly get banned from the site depending on the severity of it. There are no exceptions to this.
#3. Posting a simfile JUST to flame someone will get your simfile deleted on sight.
#4. Posting any type of file that doesn't have anything to do with the simfile will get it deleted. Posting .exe's in it will get you banned from the site immediately, no ifs ands or buts. If you post an exe in the file, you will be banned immediately and you will have no sayso whatsoever.
#5. This is basically just #3, but posting any personal information that the person does not want to be let out in any part of the simfile or the zip will get it deleted, and you may be possibly banned, but it depends on the severity of it.
:: SECTION 2, STUFF THAT GETS YOUR SIMFILE DELETED ::
#1. Posting simfiles that aren't by you, or posting simfiles pretending to be someone else.
#2. Posting totally unplayable/unpassable/impossible simfiles. I don't care if <insert person> edited the ini and sent it to you saying they passed it, it's pretty obvious when a simfile is impossible or not, and our staff are all experienced keyboard players so we know what is impossible and what isn't.
#3. Posting simfiles that are WAY offsync. If your simfile is so unplayable that I am getting greats where I should be getting marvelouses, then your simfile is WAY offsync.
#4. Posting simfiles with 0 gap
#5. Posting simfiles with arrows that follow the beat that aren't red through the majority of the song. This means don't post simfiles with yellow arrow syndrome, orange arrow syndrome, blue arrow syndrome, green arrow syndrome and teal arrow syndrome.
#6. Do not post Konami steps. Making an edit of an official song is fine if you ONLY have your steps, but if it has Konami steps anywhere in it, it will be deleted.
#7 Do not post illegal material within your .zip file. This will result in an immediate ban. You are responsible for everything you upload and will be dealt with accordingly if there are illegal files/software within your submission. We record IP addresses.
:: SECTION 3, STUFF THAT DETERMINES THE RATING OF YOUR SIMFILE BY SIM MODS ::
#1. The syncing. We're not going to be strict on this since it varies for people, but this DOES factor into your rating.
#2. The quality of the steps.
#3. The quality of the bg/banner, and how well it compliments the song. If it has no bg/banner then then it will effect your rating drastically. I don't care if your sim is the best thing since birth control, no bg/banner is going to be at least -2 points off your rating, and most sims with a really low rating will just be deleted.
#4. Finally, little misc details like how accurate your information is or the quality of your music. The quality of the music usually just means the bitrate (anything under 128 kbps will probably get you a bad rating), but there are times when the song can be so horrible that it will get you a bad rating, or when a song is really repetitive or long.
