Trouble with cMods

Even though I have been playing this game for a while, I just learned how to make cmods today. Or at least I thought...

I went to http://www.stepmania.com/forums/show...n-Stepmania-.. for enlightenment. I did everything that I was supposed to do and ran Stepmania, as usual. But when I try to access options to change to one of my created cmods, I get this notification before the options screen even pops up:

I go back to see what the problem is and I check back to my metrics file, and see this:

Go to languages, and see this:

I have no idea what I am doing wrong, and it might be an easy fix, I just lack the knowledge to see it. Please someone help me, I cant stand not using cmods anymore, and c400 is slow as slowpoke.

Shouldn't it just be C500=C500, C600=C600, C750=C750?

I actually never though of trying that, but if you see in the url i posted, it says the same thing, so I never bothered to change it, no matter how unusual it looked lol. Might work, lets see...

they are lowercase, but i doubt that's the problem.

They should be uppercase if I'm not wrong, doublecheck (I think you typed them in lowercase in your languages)

EDIT: Yeah looking at your screenshot, in the language file you typed c500, c600, c750. Its case sensitive; put C500, C600, C750 and that should do the trick. I had this problem before too. The error happened because its case sensitive and couldn't find "C500" etc.

I think it has something to do with you naming it C500=Fast in the english ini file.

Follow the steps till it works.

- Make sure your SM isn't on fast load. It might be loading a cached en file.
- Remove the words and put the correct names. If it works, it's the word names. If it fails, you have another issue.
- Remove the C-Mods in general that you added, see if your SM loads without them. If so, overwrite the previously existing C-Mods with two new ones.

You want to see what works by going through the steps slowly to find where the problem is. I just really think it's your cache.

It should be:

C500=C500
C600=C600
C750=C750

If you want to name it what you did in the english.ini, go to the metrics.ini and do that:

Speed,13="mod,C500;name,Fast"
Speed,14="mod,C600;name,Faster"
Speed,15="mod,C750;name,Fastest"

Then english.ini:

Fast=Fast
Faster=Faster
Fastest=Fastest

Don't know if I'm wrong about this lol.

If you want to name it what you did in the english.ini, go to the metrics.ini and do that:

Speed,13="mod,C500;name,Fast"
Speed,14="mod,C600;name,Faster"

Then english.ini:

Faster=Faster
Fastest=Fastest

The issue is because your metrics don't have the names specified. From what I see, you have C500=C500 in the metrics, but C500=Fast in the english file.

To get it working, the english and metrics both have to specify the same name. In my case, I did it for C600.

metrics.ini
Speed,17=mod,C600;name,lol

english.ini
C600=lol

Apply this to your situation.

EDIT: my way worked also, haha. Two ways to the right answer, I suppose.
