FFRs combo based scoring is pretty retarded. I can get around 3 goods on TOML 1.2 rate and can't get a good score on any ffr fgo because of 1-4 misses.

Edit: How can you not "pass" a song on ffr other then the vROFL wall of death? You can just mindlessly mash your keyboard and pass. You can probably pass fgo's with your eyes closed by just jump trilling to 16ths whenever you here music.

Which is why I said in stepmania terms, you'd be a "master" if you can do most or practically the entire file without mashing or having trouble in a select few spots. lol. You can miss in stepmania and still get a really good score (AA), while mashing may downgrade it lower to even a C.

Second part: If you can't pass difficulty 5 files or under, then you are pretty bad, sorry to say haha. Passing FGO's isn't that impressive even, since like you said FFR's life system is very lenient in comparison to stepmania. Only ridiculous files are hard to pass such as vrofl.

somehow expected dossar to churn out a multi-paragraph response with a Qualitative Analysis on what it takes to be Pro at sm. and he did!

because 'pro' is used as slang outside (ehm) professional sports, you obviously can't set any exact meaning for it. personally i think u are 'pro' at stepmania if you are significantly faster than i am (ie can fc corporal jigsaw or some stupid ****) because there seems to be a pretty fine line between those who plow through files like that and those of us who don'e understand how to move fingers that fast x.x
