got a quick question. when i first switched to 4 fingers, i pretty much sucked, but now im better at 4 fingers than indexing besides a couple songs like quasar. Except for one thing, as i get better, my MA still sucks compared to my indexing MA. I was wondering if that was an advantage of indexing or if i just need to give myself time with 4 fingers since ive only been using that for a couple weeks.

indexing is in no way the most accurate... me, reach, linus, aperson (not TOO good MA anymore) have by far the best MA and we all use 4 fingers... Index is actually likely to give more perfects ESPECIALLY on very difficult songs as your speed is limited and you will thus find it difficult to reach the arrow in proper timing while four fingers gives you the speed advantage allowing you to time well.Comment

If you have any musical background, the instrument you played will have an influence on which style you MA with better. Drummers will be better at index, and piano players will be better at 4-finger. I played both extensively, and oddly enough I use a hybrid technique where I play 85-90% of the streams I see with 3 fingers (left index, right index/middle) and index the ones that are clearly written by an index player, or 4-finger the ones written by a 4-finger player. On songs like Reach's Genocide and a lot of Toph's simfiles that are jump-intensive, I incorporate my left middle into the patterns quite often. When going for stream MA though, I try to stick to 3-finger as much as I can, because it's not as limited as index or as complex as 4-finger.I\'m like an idea machine.
Feed me a taco and I come up with a good idea.Comment
