most of the devs and supporters of etterna arnt that active on ffr, if you have an crash or error you can contact us on discord, you can get to the public etternaonline discord by scrolling down on https://etternaonline.com/ after that people can help you get to the etterna devolpers discord where people can help you, or you can just PM nick12 (if he wants people to) and we can prob help you outIts not a bug its a FEATURE!

I am stepping a song and 2/3 of the time when I try to play test it, the game crashes and I get an error. But it doesn't only happen when I am trying to play test my file, it happens (less frequently) when I am playing the game normally as well. It occurs even if I reload songs.
This issue was so annoying that I decided to try play testing my file later, and I got on later, and it worked, but now it's crashing again, and it doesn't make sense because sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.

Ok, what version are you using?
And, how are you selecting songs? (Mouse or kb)
Do you have any way to consistently reproduce this?
Are you reloading songs from options->reload? Try not to do this, iirc it was mentioned in release notes to not do this. Try to do ctrl+shift+q on the select music screen.
Also, I'd recommend you delete the /Cache/ folder (It's possible the problem is there), and also that every time you make a change to a song/chart you do ctrl+shift+r before starting it (That hotkey reloads the currently selected song).Comment

I cannot consistently reproduce it, 2/3 of the time it happens 1/3 it doesn't, even if keep doing the same things to try to load a song it is always random whether it crashes or not
I have been going to the options to reload songs, if the problem happens again with the new reload inputs, I will let you know
I didn't know you could reload one song at a time, good to know, and I will try that too.

Reloading the songs with the shortcuts you informed me of has not fixed the problem.
